"This was a targeted assassination.” Israeli strikes killed journalist Amal Khalil in the southern Lebanese town of at-Tiri on Wednesday after she reportedly took shelter inside a house from an earlier drone strike. In a video report from Beirut, journalist Courtney Bonneau said Khalil was “executed in a targeted airstrike” and described the incident as an assassination, saying, “This was a blatant murder. This was a targeted assassination.” She also said that Israeli forces fired live ammunition and stun grenades at Red Cross teams attempting to reach the site, preventing rescue efforts.
