Cannot express how much I adore that they kept this from the book. As someone who managed a toy store for five years and worked with kids regularly yes it is 100% accurate and realistic that he would use non-cuss words even with no kids around.

I’m begging you to keep your mind sharp. Do puzzles, learn crafts, study history & languages, commit your favorite poems to memory. Infinite scrolling and AI are wrecking brains both young and old. If you don’t love learning, you’re not going to make it.

"We have time on our hands and no external authority telling us to snap out of it." "Let's have a show of hands: "How many retirees have ended a day looking up from the phone, wondering where the time went and feeling the mental equivalent of having finished off a family-size bag of potato chips?" "Yeah," he writes. "That's what I thought." We spend decades trying to buy back our time ... and then spend it staring at our screens.
