Yesterday was fieldwork day on the @CENTA_NERC trip in Oban. The walk up the hill was definitely worth it for the view!

After a week of stunning landscapes (and many peat depth measurements)... Speed PhD completed!🎓Had a great time exploring Scotland with the CENTA cohort. Massive thanks @CENTA_NERC for the field trip - would love to do it all over again... how about a #SpeedPostdoc?😅

Much humour and LOL moments at @CENTA_NERC field course. I spiel on responsible field work, picking up/ taking out litter - cans, wrappers, bottles etc even if not yours. We're there to improve environment. 10 min later someone emerges from bushes carrying 2m car bumper!

In related news, alongside pondering over carbon sequestration and wind farms, we set up a band. New album “Beats from the Peat” drops next week…

This week I will be researching in Oban: "Peat bogs are an internationally important feature of the Scottish ecosystem. They play an important, but uncertain and in parts controversial role, in the global carbon cycle and in carbon capture and storage."

Off to Oban to do a speed PhD in a week! Assuming that means we can submit in three weeks time!!
