The Mailbox Test, like the breakfast test, is an excellent way to tell who you can allow to wield power in your society. Goes like this: If someone is hurt trying to destroy someone else's stuff in order to take pleasure from their pain, do you sympathize with... The aggressor because he got hurt? Or with the guy who owns the stuff, because he wasn't the aggressor? You can have people in your society who fail the Mailbox Test. That's okay... they can work at hospices, or shelters for orphaned kittens, or something. But you cannot allow them to vote, or otherwise wield political power. Because if you do, they will open the gates of the city to the enemy. I am personally tired of everyone pretending that people who enjoy ruining things for random strangers are just kewt smol beans who are only aggressive because of all the complex socioeconomic factors and lack of resources. They knew someone would be hurt by what they did. They knew that someone had done literally nothing harmful to them. And those two ideas, in combination made them feel pleasure. And they went and did it. That is the sign of a rotten soul. Defending ourselves and our property is not just a right, it's a moral obligation. Otherwise, we just kick the can down the road for someone else to deal with, someone who may not be able to defend herself. I don't care if a vandal breaks his arms trying to destroy my stuff. Because I value my stuff more than a vandal's arms. And the fact that he tried to destroy somebody else's stuff shows that he, too, values his arms less than the opportunity to hurt somebody. We cannot allow such people inside the city, and we cannot give the keys to those who would open the gates for them.

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

My biggest joy is we watched these two go head to head not one's but twice in a freaking ucl finals, because if we didn't the English media would have done everything within their power to tell us pep wouldn't have stood a chance against Fergie and most People would have believed it... Thank God 2009 & 2011 finals happened.

Pep Guardiola is just ONE league title away from matching Alex Ferguson’s record across Europe’s top five leagues — and he’s done it 12 years quicker. ⏳🔥 If Pep Guardiola isn't the GOAT manager, then who is?

The amount of self-hate Americans have towards their own history is truly unreal. They defeated slavery by fighting against their own family. They shut Europe out of the western hemisphere so that nations wouldn't live under colonization forever. They had the ability to stay out of world war 1 but they went and died to help Europeans. They had the ultimate power in the nuclear bomb. They also had access to all of Europe's colonies that were in shambles. But instead they promoted freedom. They rebuilt Japan and Germany after defeating them in war. They stood down the Soviet Union, even as the world jeered them. They sent soldiers to places like Vietnam and Afghanistan that died TRYING to create a better world (even if you disagree with those wars, the intentions were fairly good) And they sent more missionaries to the world than maybe any other country in history. Translated more Bibles into indigenous languages than any other country in history. Ran bigger charities than any other country in history. Created more Christian resources than any other country in history. Whether it was stopping the Dutch from reconquering Indonesia to the Berlin Airlift to giving Cuba its freedom in the Spanish-American war to saving China from the Japanese America has at least ATTEMPTED to do good with its power. Yes yes, America has problems. People are imperfect. But goodness gracious does the world have a lot to be grateful for in America. And when we could have taken SO much from the world we have often chosen not to. Rome, Britain, Mongols, Assyrians, Soviets, Chinese, no other group has ever shown the restraint America has consistently shown with such vast power at its fingertips. We didn't even get into the GIGANTIC technological advances, consumer advances, convenient lifestyle changes America has pioneered. From electricity to space to the light bulb to the smart phone to many cures in medicine and agriculture to the airplane the world has been enormously blessed by America.

As a stay at home husband, I spend most of my days and weeks lifting, tanning, training martial arts, and reading philosophy when my haggard, hedge fund manager wife gets home from her 110 hour a week j*b to fund my lifestyle, I gotta say I am so pissed off she has been neglecting me And she is always forgetting to pick up the milk at the store (I told her multiple times) I know it's bad, but if she's tired maybe she should work less? Also if she even gave a shit about me at all, she would find a way make the time for me and she's barely ever "in the mood" Anyway that's why I'm cheating on her, which she deserves

🚨🎙 | Clément Turpin and István Kovács against FC Barcelona both legs: - Frame 1: No VAR check on Fermin Lopez brutal tackle by Jan Musso, in fact he wasn't carded - Frame 2: Marc Pubill handball in their own box after the goal kick have been signaled by the refree, it wasn't checked either ways - Frame 3: No yellow card for that tackle on Lamine Yamal -Frame 4: Dani Olmo was brought down by two Atlético Madrid players and it wasn't checked either. Take Aways: Pablo Gavi elbowed Rugeri and there was a VAR check immediately, he was handed a yellow card, Eric García was sent off for Pushing Solorth, Pau Cubarsi was sent off either by a non existing foul on Simeone. @ChampionsLeague, you have done more harm than good. Thank you next season we await the next drama to be unveiled.
