Not massive corporate AI data centres unleashed without any democratic debate. There's also no real data sovereignty in an AI ecosystem dominated by U.S. tech giants. Telus may be Canadian-owned, but it has already transferred 14 petabytes of Canadian data onto Google Cloud as part of its AI strategy. This is a technology that will bring sweeping changes at a scale and speed never seen before. Canadians deserve real oversight and a robust regulatory framework before we rush ahead. That’s why we’re calling for an immediate pause on the construction of any new AI data centres until strong federal guardrails are in place. Above all, Hondurasgate is a violent wake-up call for defenders of democracy across the world. The Reactionary International is outpacing us in every single dimension: they are more agile, more creative, more audacious. and more effective. The first step of our response is transparency: to track the long list of crimes that these reactionary forces are committing in service of their colonial project. The second is accountability: to apply the legal tools that we have to ensure that these crimes do not go uncontested, and that delinquents like JOH are punished. But the third must be articulation: to develop our own networks that do not simply give speeches and sign declarations but act with the same determination to defend and deepen our democracies from the insidious tactics of this global network of reactionary forces.

Anyone who thinks Iran will hand Donald Trump a deal he can brag about is living in fantasy. Trump killed Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, General Qassem Soleimani and a long list of Iran’s senior leaders. Tehran is not going to decorate him with a diplomatic victory after that. Iran may negotiate when it serves its interests. But it will not reward Trump. It will not give him a trophy. And it will not sign anything he can sell it as a win. If Trump is furious about Iran’s leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, then Tehran has even less reason to give it up. That card is one of Iran’s strongest, and it will not hand it to him just to calm his anger. On the contrary, Trump can stay angry until the end of his term. Iran is not in the business of rescuing his ego.
