Our efforts to reach citizens within their communities we are conducting mobile legal aid clinics in Mbazi & @kibumbwesector sectors of @Nyamagabe, with support from @trocaire . Common issues raised was family matters such as succession & land disputes. A key challenge affecting access to justice in remote areas is the lack of reliable internet connectivity, which limits access to essential platforms like Irembo and IECMS. We were also honored to receive Trócaire’s Global Advisor, Mr. Conor, whose visit reinforced our shared commitment to expanding access to justice for the communities we serve.

RWAMREC, in partnership with FHF through Kibuye Referral Hospital (14 April 2026) and Musanze Referral Hospital (17 April 2026), held quarterly meetings with health providers. The discussions focused on improving eye care service delivery from health centers to hospitals, aligning HMIS and E-tracker data, and strengthening the role of CHWs and MEs in community outreach. Together, we are working to increase access to eye care and encourage communities to prioritize their eye health. 👁️

Alongside community engagement, we continue convening cross-border stakeholders, including health teams, immigration officials, and partner organizations, to strengthen collaboration, improve information sharing, and align preparedness and response efforts. These #HealthSecurity engagements are helping to identify gaps and reinforce systems needed for timely and effective epidemic response. Today, work continued at Kagitumba One-Stop Border Post in @NyagatareDistr.

Strengthening cross-border preparedness to boost #HealthSecurity remains work in progress. This week, HDI, in partnership with @IOMRwanda and @RBCRwanda, continued working across Points of Entry to prevent and respond to Mpox and other epidemic-prone diseases. At Cyanika and Gatuna, Community Health Workers (CHWs) and field teams carried out household-level awareness, engaging border communities and key populations with practical information on prevention, early detection, and care-seeking.
