Not the most challenging test, but Luc de Fougerolles delivered yet another very good World Cup performance. A versatile, intelligent, and committed defender. Just 20 years old. He should be a reliable presence for Canada for many years to come. 🇨🇦⭐️

A brand new bridge between Detroit and Canada is finished and ready to open. It would speed up traffic for millions of trucks, cut delays for American businesses, and help the auto industry that employs people in every state. There is just one problem. Donald Trump won’t let it open. Here is why. The family that owns the old bridge stands to lose business when the new one opens. So in January, they gave one million dollars to a pro-Trump super PAC. Weeks later they met with Trump’s Commerce Secretary. He called Trump. Hours after that, Trump announced he would block the new bridge. The opening was set for June 12. It got canceled the day before. The bridge sits there finished and empty. Now here is the part that should make every taxpayer angry. Canada paid for the entire bridge. Every dollar. And the United States already owns half of it for free. Trump is holding up a bridge we got for nothing, to protect a donor who wrote him a check, while picking a fight with our closest ally and biggest trading partner. This is corruption in plain sight. A billionaire pays, and the President delivers. American workers and businesses pay the price. Open the bridge. A government should work for the people, not for whoever writes the biggest check. nytimes.com/2026/02/20/us/…

🚨🔴 BREAKING NEWS: FIFA have officially apologized for the error made during Argentina's match after Lionel Messi was not shown a red card for his controversial challenge. According to FIFA, the referee and VAR team failed to properly review the incident despite clear contact being visible from multiple angles. We admitted that the tackle should have been reviewed and that the officials made a mistake by allowing play to continue without disciplinary action.🔴

🚨🗣️New: Thierry Henry breaks down the Ismael Kone incident between Canada vs Qatar: “That was a horrible, horrible tackle, one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time. How do you climb straight into a player’s leg like that in a World Cup match? You could see the leg was in real trouble straight away. And Koné’s eyes… man, those eyes told the whole story. Helpless, in shock, tears coming down. That image stays with you. Ismaël Koné is a young warrior, heart on his sleeve for Canada, and some reckless, late, studs-up butcher from Qatar flies in from nowhere and snaps his leg like a twig? Tibia and fibula, done. Stretchered off in a World Cup, his dream shattered in one cowardly moment. And the worst part? This wasn’t a 50-50. This was a challenge you make when you know you’re getting dominated and you decide to end a player’s tournament instead of playing football. When something like that happens, the whole stadium just goes quiet. The atmosphere dies. Nobody wants to see a player struggling like that on the pitch. My heart goes out to him, I’m wishing him a full and speedy recovery. We all are. Football is tough, but this is a young man with a big future. We pray this doesn’t end up being career-threatening. That’s not what we want for anyone. Look, you can call it a mistake, a bad challenge, whatever… but these kinds of tackles have no place in the game. It’s sport, yes, but we have to protect the players. I hope the referee and the authorities deal with it properly. Get well soon, Ismaël. The football world is behind you.” #canada  #qatar
