The average KY school bus driver makes $15,364/yr. At that income they've received *nothing* from reducing the state's income tax. But under the House budget, their healthcare costs would soar $6,422/yr. KY's richest 1%? They're getting $27,482/yr from the state income tax cuts.

200 casino workers at Horseshoe Indianapolis are taking power into their own hands and striking to win recognition of Teamsters Local 135 as their union. These hardworking men and women helped Horseshoe Indianapolis rake in $336 million in revenue last year and will remain on the picket line until the casino gives them the respect they are owed.

Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien will testify on Wednesday, Oct. 8, during the HELP Committee’s hearing on federal labor law reform in the U.S. Senate. The Teamsters Union is leading a campaign and working across the aisle to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act, a simple and straightforward bipartisan proposal to guarantee workers a fast first union contract. When passed, the desperately needed legislation will be one the most consequential bills put forward to help American workers in generations: foxbusiness.com/politics/repub…

Republic Services workers represented by Teamsters Local 25 have won an historic strike against the multibillion-dollar waste corporation, ratifying a new contract by a powerful 92 percent margin. “Republic Services torched tens of millions of dollars to force this unnecessary strike and drag it out in a failed attempt to break our members’ solidarity. Republic forced hundreds of thousands of regular, hardworking people living in Boston to suffer all summer long. But Boston Teamsters don’t break — ever — and we’ve ratified an incredible new agreement,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “Republic should be ashamed of its corporate greed. Every Teamster should be proud of their backbone and commitment to fight for what’s right.” Republic forced more than 400 members of Local 25 out on strike on July 1. After nearly three months on the picket line, Republic Teamsters have now locked in raises of 46 percent over the life of the five-year contract and additional substantial improvements to health benefits. “I’ve never been prouder of a group of Teamsters in my life. Our members stood strong for 82 days to send a message to Republic and to greedy employers across the country. Never once did the Teamsters waiver in our shared mission to protect one another on the job, increase wages, and improve benefits,” said Tom Mari, President of Local 25. “This is an extremely strong contract, and our members are looking forward to going back to work on Monday. It’s finally time to get back to serving the communities we live in and care about so much. Boston Teamsters thank our city for their love, compassion, and support throughout this fight.” Dozens of Republic Teamsters in Cumming, Ga., represented by Teamsters Local 728, remain on strike against the waste giant and have extended picket lines to Columbus, Ohio. This has resulted in a work stoppage affecting more than 80 workers. Teamsters in Georgia and Ohio will remain on picket lines against Republic until they are offered a fair new agreement.

“There’s a good chance you heard about me on the news last year. I’m the UPS driver who almost died when I fainted at the wheel from heat exhaustion and crashed my truck into a tree. I still work at UPS as a proud member of Teamsters Local 767. But if the company doesn’t keep its promise to give me A/C, there’s no telling if I’ll make it through another Texas summer.” Read Teamster Hayden Koenig’s op-ed calling on UPS to finally deliver the A/C trucks they contractually agreed to: dallasobserver.com/news/texas-ups…

Tell your Senators to oppose and remove the AI moratorium in the budget reconciliation bill, which would prohibit states from regulating AI and automation for 10 years. If the moratorium language stays in the reconciliation bill and this ban goes through, it will be one of the largest federal takeovers of state power in U.S. history. Take action today to stand up to Big Tech’s attempt to strip all 50 states of their rights: actionnetwork.org/letters/stop-t…

Teamsters are outside General Motors plants today, calling out the company for using nonunion carhaulers — a direct attack on union jobs and the standards we’ve all fought to raise. When UAW workers went on strike, Teamsters carhaulers refused to cross the picket line. Now, GM is threatening all of us by outsourcing this work to nonunion carriers that do not pay the area standard. Tell GM: Respect union labor. Stop using nonunion carhaulers. News flash: @Amazon has ZERO allegiance to the United States. Decades after free trade politicians sold out American workers, Amazon has built an international empire fueled by industrial slavery managed by the Chinese Communist Party. While here in the U.S., it neglects, abuses, and disowns an American workforce to further inflate its profit margins. What Jeff Bezos and Amazon are really afraid of is sharing their wealth with the people who created it. Hold Amazon accountable to American workers! @WhiteHouse cnbc.com/2025/04/29/whi…

Every year, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters joins labor unions around the world to honor April 28 as International Workers’ Memorial Day, recognizing workers who have died, been injured, or who have otherwise been physically impacted from their work. Workplace hazards kill almost 140,000 workers each year. While generations of efforts by workers have significantly improved occupational safety across all industries, the fight to ensure safety in the workplace is far from over. Whether it is combatting workplace violence or hazards presented by the increasing use of automation, Workers’ Memorial Day serves as a call to action for workers and employers to prioritize safety over profits. The Teamsters Union honors those whose lives have been tragically impacted on the job and will continue the fight to improve workplace conditions for all workers.

In a major win for Amazon Teamsters, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Region 20 issued a complaint against the company over its illegal refusal to bargain. The federal agency is seeking a bargaining order to force the company to the negotiating table after workers at the DCK6 warehouse in San Francisco joined the union and demanded recognition in October 2024. “This groundbreaking decision paves the way for more Amazon workers to organize with the Teamsters across the country,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “We know two things are certain — Amazon will continue to break the law and abuse working people, and working people and powerful organizations like the Teamsters will hold them accountable to secure the rights we deserve. Amazon isn’t going to keep getting away with this.” The more than 100 San Francisco workers joined thousands of other Amazon Teamsters on the picket line in a historic holiday season strike last December over the company’s refusal to bargain, bringing national attention to working conditions at Amazon and putting pressure on the government to act. The unfair labor practice strike capped off a wave of organizing by drivers and warehouse workers at Amazon. NLRB Region 20’s decision will set the stage for bargaining orders at many other locations where Amazon has dodged its legal obligation to negotiate with the union. Amazon Teamsters unionized and demanded recognition last year at DBK4 in New York City; DGT8 and DTG5 in Atlanta; KSBD, DFX4, DAX5, and DAX8 in Southern California; DCK6 in San Francisco; and DIL7 in Skokie, Ill. The Teamsters Union is confident that the NLRB will draw the same conclusion in those cases as it did in San Francisco, and Amazon will be hit with additional orders to bargain.
