Driving around DC today, it's striking how flags on federal buildings controlled by the president are not at half staff, unlike the ones at the Capitol which were lowered in honor of the police officer killed in this week's mob attack.

i cant really wrap my head around the fact people who violently breached the building, and trashed it were allowed to just...leave the capitol.

Watching @cspan and it's kind of shocking to be reminded that many of these elected officials are not very good at talking about important things. They don't speak clearly. Their words kind of ooze and slip through your fingers. They talk without saying anything.
