In a country plagued by collapsing basics, no reliable emergency services, dilapidated and poorly equipped hospitals, death-trap roads, stagnant salaries, high insecurity and punishing inflation, the decision to lavish judges with luxurious houses and high-end cars raises a stark question:
What for?
This is not about attracting talent or ensuring judicial independence. Competent judges can be properly compensated with competitive but reasonable salaries and secure (not ostentatious) housing, especially when the rest of the public sector is underpaid and essential services are crumbling.
Handing out mansions and luxury vehicles to those who are supposed to uphold the rule of law, while ordinary citizens die on bad roads or in terrorists den, signals misplaced priorities at best and captured institutions at worst. When judges live in isolated luxury disconnected from the daily struggles of the population, it becomes far easier for them to lose sight of the human cost of their rulings.
Worse, such perks can function as subtle tools of influence. A comfortable reminder of who holds the power to grant (or withdraw) comfort. True judicial independence is better protected by transparent, merit-based appointments, adequate but non-extravagant pay, strict asset disclosure, and strong anti-corruption safeguards not by creating a privileged class that floats above the failing society it is meant to serve impartially.
This pattern of neglecting core public goods while pampering key insiders is classic bad governance. It erodes trust in institutions, fuels cynicism, and tells citizens that the system exists to serve the rulers and their allies, not the people. A functioning state fixes the roads, equips the hospitals, builds emergency response capacity, and controls inflation before it rewards its own with palaces. Anything else is not leadership. It’s patronage dressed up as necessity.

Kenneth Okonkwo said if OBIdients insults him on social media, that he will release dossier that will end Peter Obi's political carrier.
Obidients amplified the insult, as though that wasn't enough. Mr. Obi himself went to Rufai Oseni's podcast and asked Kenneth Okonkwo to release any record he had about him, even from primary school.
He also went further to say that if anyone could bring out any evidence of corruption against him, he would stop campaigning. That's audacity!
That's why many of us support him blindly.

Tinubu wrecked Nigeria in just one month and in three years smashed everything the last government built 😭But four years with Peter Obi? We will rewrite the script, repositioning Naija to the top!!!
Tinubu failed badly and will flop worse in 2027 if we let him cook!
Vote PO for president 🚀🇳🇬

Peter Obi has donated billions of naira from his personal resources to schools, hospitals, and other public institutions because he genuinely believes in investing in people and welfare.
If he can make such an impact with his personal wealth, the possibilities with the powers and resources of the presidency are worth thinking about.
Imagine what he could achieve with the full resources of the federal government. Imagine the transformation, rehabilitation, and revitalization he could bring to our schools, hospitals, and critical public institutions.

So concerning this.
I lost my uncle to Tinubu's insecurity. On Sunday they ran into gun men in Ilorin as they were coming back from our community meeting. The bandits opened fire on them. My uncle died instantly.
Others were seriously injured.
This is the renewed hope APC and Tinubu promised to Nigerians.
This is not fair at all.

Hello Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT if these were your children, grandchildren or relatives, would you let them remain in the forest with terrorists for over 40 days?
Why are you so heartless? #bringbackourchidren
