When I first moved to the UK, a company sent me a cheque for a refund.
I took the cheque to the bank as we normally do in Najia.
The teller told me I could just scan it via their app. I did, and within seconds, the money was showing incoming in my account.
Then I tried to hand her the physical cheque, but she said, “You can keep it or shred it."
As a former banker, I didn't know how to react.
In Nigeria, banks store physical cheques for 10 years after transaction.

What a shame on Esther Ajayi.
This woman is one of the most popular voices and figures in the Cherubim and Seraphim movement in Nigeria.
She has presented herself as a philanthropist, even to the point of building a university, Orimolade University, which is still in the works.
Now, we may be seeing where such resources come from.
The Bible speaks strongly against ministers who align themselves with wrongdoing:
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness” (Isaiah 5:20).
And again:
“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, who write misfortune, which they have prescribed” (Isaiah 10:1).
Scripture also condemns those who strengthen the hands of evildoers:
“…they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness” (Jeremiah 23:14).
A minister is meant to be blameless. This is why Paul could boldly speak of his conduct among believers:
“For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God” (2 Corinthians 1:12).
This is a shame, and God will judge such things.

@Ifenimiii Simply put, you'll be pawns in the hands of the players of the world.
People think they can live this world in the bliss of ignorant
Yes, you can. You can stay away from politics.
But it won't stay away from you.
Because politics dictate every single moment of our lives.

There’s a story about all the animals being summoned to a meeting. As they converged at the public square early in the morning, one of them, the fowl, was spotted by his neighbours going in the opposite direction.
They said to him, “How is it that you are going away from the public square? Did you not hear the town crier’s summons last night?” “I did hear it,” said the fowl, “and I should certainly have gone to the meeting if a certain personal matter had not cropped up which I must attend to. I am truly sorry, but I hope you will make my sincere apologies to the meeting. Tell them that though absent in body I will be there with you in spirit in all your deliberations. Needless to say that whatever you decide will receive my whole-hearted support.”
The question before the assembled animals was what to do in the face of a new threat posed by man’s frequent slaughtering of animals to placate his gods. After a stormy but surprisingly brief debate, it was decided to present to man one of their number as his regular sacrificial animal if he would leave the rest in peace. And it was unanimously agreed that the fowl should be offered to man to mediate between him and his gods. And it has been so ever since.
I read this story in Achebe’s Hopes and Impediments. You see, the danger of the self-imposed absence is twofold. Not only do you get to deprive the world of your voice, you also get to suffer at the hands of those who lent theirs.
This disarmingly simple parable has vast implications. The fowl’s absence is emblematic of the human tendency to abdicate participation by retreating into private preoccupations while public life unfolds elsewhere.
And when the council of the living gathers, the silent are always represented, but rarely in ways that favour them.

There was a report I used to send to China every single day. It would take me a solid 2–3 hours of focused work, no shortcuts, just pure effort.
Then one day, while I was in the shower, an idea hit me. I didn’t even wait, I rushed out, grabbed my laptop, and tried it immediately. From that moment on, what used to take hours started taking less than 30 minutes.
That experience stayed with me. Yes, we all need grace in what we do. But sometimes, it’s not about grinding endlessly or working hard all the time…it’s about stepping back, thinking differently, and working smart.
Now turn the ladder upside down. Move smart.

The most destructive piece of internet lore ever created is the phrase: "If they wanted to, they would."
It sounds empowering, but it is actually deeply narcissistic. It assumes that a person’s actions are dictated 100% by their desire for you, while completely ignoring their capacity.
A partner can desperately want to give you the world, but if they are fighting a silent financial war, battling burnout, or dealing with a health crisis, their capacity is at zero. Measuring a stressed partner's love strictly by their ability to "perform" is a lethal mistake. "If they wanted to, they would" is the fastest way to lose a fiercely loyal partner over a temporary lack of bandwidth.

Do you know what’s fascinating about the life of Jesus as recorded in the Holy Bible? Even without the messianic title (assume that you can set aside his divinity for a moment I mean), the human, non-religious persona of Jesus Christ would still be one of greatest, most progressive humans to ever live. It’s 2026 and no one could point to any of his acts/teachings that would violate today’s most progressive codes. For a man who lived 2000 years ago, in the darkest ages, isn’t that incredible?
Read through his teachings, with his words, he simplified the complexity of human existence through the teachings of tolerance, love and kindness towards others. His teachings about the purity and honesty of Children as what makes them the best of humans, and how we should aspire to be like them. How we shouldn’t force our message on others, that once they say NO, just walk away. Thats consent. Never preached nor encouraged violence.
Gender equality, alms giving and respect for constituted authority. He taught it all… Two Thousand and Twenty Six years ago.

When I tell you that there's nothing sophisticated about politics, especially Nigerian politics, better believe that and stop arguing with me. I wise pass all of una.
If politics is the rocket science they want you to believe it is, tell me why this guy agreed to go for that interview knowing fully well that not even the world’s smartest person can successfully defend Tinubu?
I will tell you why he did.
Politics banks on your gullibility. He knew that
1. There’s an audience for whatever brain-rotting remarks he could possibly make.
2. Debates don't win elections in Nigeria, neither do TV appearances. The last two presidents docked debates and still won.
3. Delusions of grandeur, because even up till now, he's still sharing the clips, believing he performed well.
I remember saying this the other day, and some people were running their mouths, but let me say it again. Politics is not rocket science. The difference between you and the so-called political analysts is just exposure. There's nothing advanced that's happening there. The way you see it from the outside is exactly the way it is. You can quote anywhere.
