His mother begged the free world to help save her son’s life. No one listened. This morning, the barbaric regime executed Vahid Bani-Amerian by hanging in Iran. They shuts down the internet to hide its crimes, then uses that same internet to broadcast death. Imagine waking up to state media announcing, one by one, that the protesters are being hanged. Vahid was tortured. Broken. Forced into a false confession on TV. And then they killed him.

Alberta's Bill 25 bans 'specialty flags,' reins in activism, puts classrooms back to basics Alberta is taking a sledgehammer to something that never should have been controversial in the first place: politics in the classroom. With Bill 25, Premier Danielle Smith’s government is drawing a hard line. Schools are for learning, not activism, and this time, the rules are explicit. No “specialty flags” in classrooms. That means no political or ideological banners, whether tied to gender activism, international conflicts, or any other cause. Schools are public institutions, not campaign offices, and they’re supposed to feel neutral to every student who walks through the door. The bill also cracks down on school boards acting like political lobby groups. No more issuing statements on every trending issue or turning education bureaucracies into vehicles for activism. Their job is to run schools, and that’s it. For teachers, the direction is just as clear — be objective and present balanced perspectives. Don’t use your position to steer students toward a preferred political or ideological outcome. Students are there to learn how to think, not what to think. And there’s a protection built in. Teachers can opt out of delivering material that conflicts with their sincerely held religious or moral beliefs, without fear of punishment. Bill 25 builds on Alberta’s broader effort to restore parental authority, led by Smith’s government. That includes ending policies that allowed schools to socially transition children without parental knowledge, and removing sexually explicit material from school libraries. Critics are already calling it censorship. But stripping activism out of classrooms isn’t censorship. If neutrality feels like a threat, it’s probably because the system wasn’t neutral to begin with. Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, was over 80% Christian under Israeli control. In 1995, the Palestinian Authority took over. After 30 years, Bethlehem is now less than 10% Christian. This is what ethnic cleansing looks like.
