@linuxhippie @LRarey I would argue that the US was trapped in a dialectic that positioned US power in a grind-down (dialectical) churn that subordinated actual power to disarming narratives and forever wars designed to frustrate the very idea of the use of power. In breaking from the dialectic, and dialectics are always nihilistic propositions that position the target in pseudorealities, Trump, actually the reality of the real, is forcing the EU and the UK, or at least the citizens therein, to recognize the costs of being trapped in churning circles designed to reduce them. Trump seeks to bring an end to the Iran forever standoff, the Venezuelan and Cuban forever standoffs, by bringing them, and the dialectical churns they execute, to an end. What becomes increasingly clear is that at practically any point in these forever churns, all the US leadership had to do was to act. Real : Being :: Pseudoreal : Becoming For better and for worse, Trump is grounded in the real. The one thing the dialectic cannot abide is the real.

“When measured in real terms, after Brexit total exports rose by more than 23 percent, from £735 billion in 2015 to £905 billion in 2025.” Post-Brexit, Britain is not only doing more trade, but diversification thereof means we’re less reliant on the EU. thecritic.co.uk/brexit-was-not…
