So earlier I was creating a simple model to approximate the Artemis 2 trajectory to the best of information that we currently have. It was a pain in the ass to time everything correctly but I've got a tool now that can give me a rough idea of lighting conditions for any of the given launch windows. I noticed this while making it. If it does launch during the April 1 window , the lighting conditions just after lunar close approach on Flight day 5 are not only visually spectacular but it also mirrors the design of the mission patch (If the south pole is oriented upwards). It was meant to be!! Bonus, I scaled the rendering of this position to the same size as it should appear out the window, (just a standard 24mm smartphone camera here) the moon would appear a little under 5 and a half inches across on my display. Putting the mission patch in frame works fairly well compared to the scale of the two objects visually. It would be incredible to see a photo of the mission patch floating in the window at the same position of the vehicle here if the mission actually launches during that window.
