No surprises here, Chrome is way out in front, with almost 78% of browser users choosing it. Opera, Safari and Edge are fighting over a much smaller share of the market, while Samsung Internet sneaks into the top five. Whether it's because Chrome comes pre-installed on many devices or people simply like how it works, it's clearly the browser of choice for most Zimbabweans. What browser do you use, and what keeps you using it? Speed, privacy, data saving, habit, or something else?

Google Maps gets its live traffic from users’ phones working in the background. When many phones move slowly on the same road, Google detects a slowdown and marks it as traffic (yellow or red). If traffic is moving smoothly, it stays green. It uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile signals to estimate speed and location, but only when Location Services are on. If you turn location off, your phone stops contributing data. The key point is privacy: it doesn’t see your name or identity. It only receives anonymous movement data from devices, not people. That’s how Maps can instantly update routes and help drivers avoid congestion in real time. I knew 👍🏾 I know now 🙏🏾

The RBZ has a new plan for ZiG. It wants investors to lock away their money for 90 days. But this isn’t really about savings. It’s about confidence.

The Blackview Tab 60 Pro sits in an interesting position. In terms of the overall tablet experience, it positions itself neatly between the Samsung Tab A11 and the A11+. It has a 10.1-inch display, larger than the A11's 8.7-inch screen and just an inch smaller than the A11+'s 11-inch display. You get a large screen that is great for movies, schoolwork, reading PDFs and browsing without squinting at a phone. The interesting part is the price. The Blackview Tab 60 Pro comes with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM for $180. For comparison, the Samsung Tab A11 with the same 128GB storage and 8GB RAM costs $215, while the Samsung Tab A11+ with 128GB storage costs $290. The trade-off is performance. The Samsung tablets are generally more powerful devices, while the Blackview uses the Unisoc T606 processor found in entry-level smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy A03. This is not the tablet for serious gaming, demanding editing work or other processor-heavy tasks. But for YouTube, Netflix, online classes, social media, ebooks, emails and everyday tasks, it delivers exactly what most people actually need. And unlike many bigger brands, it comes with a charger, keyboard, mouse, pen and pouch in the box. Things that Samsung and Apple would often have you paying extra for. That is what makes the Blackview Tab 60 Pro such a strong value buy at $180. Half of Zimbabwean adults have a formal bank or mobile money account. But having an account doesn't necessarily mean using it. Only 14% saved formally that year, while just 6% borrowed through formal financial institutions. Many people still prefer informal savings clubs because they offer community and support, while others keep cash at home for quick access to money when they need it. The challenge now isn't opening more accounts, its building financial products people trust, value, and actually want to use. Source note: The data comes from the World Bank's Global Findex 2025 report, based on surveys conducted in Zimbabwe in 2024. The study is used to track long-term financial inclusion trends, with the next major update expected around 2028–2029.

Stop thinking of AI as an all-knowing genius. Instead, treat it like a smooth-talking salesperson. This salesperson can pitch you ten great ideas before you even blink. But because they desperately want to close the deal and hate admitting when they don't know something, they will occasionally make up a confident lie just to keep you happy. You love having .... 🧵

Ever notice how easy it is to believe someone if they just sound 100% sure of themselves, confident and fluent? We have a massive blind spot when it comes to machines that "speak" well. Think about it: if you type 2 + 2 into a calculator and it says 5, you immediately know it’s broken. But if you ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini to explain a law or diagnose a weird theory, and it completely makes up a fake answer, most of us just say, "Wow, thanks!" and move on. Why? ....🧵

The internet accidentally trained an entire generation in comedic timing. At this point creators could upload a blank screen and the comments would still carry.

Comment sections feel more human because they’re unpredictable. The creator uploads structure. The internet improvises.
