LOL at Laura Kuenssberg. She has just witnessed an historic victory for Reform UK and instead of interviewing Richard Tice properly, she kicks off with what some Sunderland Reform councillor may have said on their socials. Honestly the BBC are not going to change our policy on defunding them if they keep attacking us like this. #ReformUK @TiceRichard

A faggot is a baked ball of pig's offal, wrapped in caul fat, baked in a tray of gravy made from the same animal, and eaten with mashed potato and peas. The mince is liver, heart, lights (lung), kidney, breadcrumbs, onion, sage, salt, pepper. Bound with an egg. Rolled into balls the size of a small fist. Wrapped in caul, the lacy fatty membrane that lines the pig's abdomen, which melts during baking and bastes the faggot from inside its own jacket. Baked at moderate heat for forty minutes. Faggots began as cheap country food in west Wiltshire and the West Midlands and spread to South Wales in the mid-1800s, carried by agricultural workers moving into the coal valleys. In Yorkshire and Lancashire the same dish was called a "savoury duck." The first print appearance of the word was in the Manchester Courier of June 1843, in a report about a man who had eaten twelve in a sitting. Mrs Beeton wrote down the recipe in 1861. By 1965, every working household from Wolverhampton to Walsall to Merthyr ate them once a week. The faggot is one of the most efficient pieces of nose-to-tail eating in the British tradition. It uses the cuts of the pig nothing else uses. It costs almost nothing. Per faggot: complete protein, the full B-vitamin spectrum from the liver, iron at supplemental levels, and the dense satisfaction of a hot meal of organ meat. Mr Brain's, founded in Bristol by Herbert Hill Brain, began industrial production in the mid-1930s and still sells the frozen version across the West Midlands. The recipe has been simplified. The traditional version, made by a butcher with a fresh pig's pluck, survives in a small number of producers and a few proud households. Faggots were a working-class food. They became unfashionable. The unfashionability was the point at which the food started to disappear. If your butcher still sells them, buy a half-dozen. Heat in a tray with a splash of stock. Pile on mash. Spoon the gravy over. Eight hundred years of British peasant cooking, in a small brown ball. Almost gone.

Scottish FM John Swinney says he will invite all party leaders except Reform in to St Andrews House for talks about post-election priorities. That’s very professional and grown up isn’t it, just shows the SNP up for what they really are petty and small minded and unfit to govern

Thanks to Gordon Brown, Final Salary pensions were destroyed in the Private Sector. Now these schemes are closed but are mostly in surplus due to interest rate accrual. Naturally you would think that these surpluses could be used to help existing pensioners? No because this Labour government have legislated via their Pensions Schemes Act to allow companies to pocket these surpluses themselves. Once again Labour have screwed pensioners in Final Salary schemes.

TRUMP JUST WENT OFF ON THE UK "Europe is desperate for Energy, and yet the United Kingdom refuses to open North Sea Oil, one of the greatest fields in the World. Tragic!!!" 🔥 "Aberdeen should be booming. Norway sells its North Sea Oil to the U.K. at double the price. They are making a fortune. U.K., which is better situated on the North Sea for purposes of energy than Norway, should, DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!!" "It is absolutely crazy that they don’t… AND, NO MORE WINDMILLS!" 🤣

🚨HUGE: Sharon Graham, the general secretary of Unite, Labour’s biggest union donor has joined calls for Sir Keir Starmer to resign. Keir Starmer can't recover from this. Gordon Brown and Harriet Harman are not going to save him. This is terminal.

With all 136 English councils counted: Reform gained 1,451 seats Labour lost 1,496 seats Tories lost 563 seats Greens gained 441 seats LibDems gained 155 seats In other news north of the border: The SNP won 58 seats with a 33% share of the vote (need 65 for a majority). In the previous 2021 Holyrood elections they won 64 seats with a 44% share of the vote. So down six seats and 11 percentage points on five years ago. Not quite the momentum for independence the Nats are claiming. Will be quite easy for Westminster to bat away calls for another Indy ref.

Between both Reform and the Conservatives, they now have a majority to control Bradford Council. Their first motion, at the first council meeting, must be to write to the National Rape Gang Inquiry and DEMAND that Bradford be confirmed as a city under investigation.

Harriet Harman lobbied parliament, on behalf of the Paedophile Information Exchange, to legalise filmed child sexual abuse as long as the “model” did not appear “harmed”. Keir Starmer made her a life peer in the House of Lords and the UK’s Special Envoy for Women and Girls.

The gift was made in 2024, before Farage had announced his candidacy for Clacton. He was, at that point, a private citizen. Not a candidate. Not an MP. A private citizen. Parliamentary rules on declarations of interest apply to Members of Parliament. Political donation rules apply to donations made in support of political activity. A personal gift to a private individual , before that individual has even entered an election, falls into neither category. Reform’s description of it as an “exempt, personal, unconditional gift” isn’t a line. It’s the legal position. Shove that where the sun doesn't shine @MikeTappTweets
