Last week, FSWC kicked off our first school visit of the school year in Ottawa, bringing Holocaust education directly to students. This fall, our educators will be on the road across Ontario and Quebec – from Tour for Humanity visits in Waterloo and eastern Ontario, to French-language workshops in Ottawa and Montreal, and even three days of community-led programming in the remote town of Rainy River. We’re proud to continue expanding our reach, ensuring students across Canada engage with meaningful lessons on the Holocaust, antisemitism, human rights and social responsibility.

What an incredible 2024-2025 school year of education and impact! From September through June, FSWC educated more than 50,500 students and trained nearly 5,900 teachers on the Holocaust, antisemitism and human rights. Highlights of this year included the launch of our Ever Again: An Introduction to Antisemitism program for students, proudly supported by the Ontario government; our Tour for Humanity’s first-ever visit to Prince Edward Island; and our 14th annual Freedom Day program, which reached thousands of students both in person and virtually. Thank you to every student, teacher and community that welcomed us into their schools and classrooms. fswc.ca/news/empowerin…

Tour for Humanity hits the East Coast! This week, our mobile human rights classroom rolled into New Brunswick, kicking off a three-week journey through the Maritimes. Our educator Ariel Roitman visited five schools across the province, including in Moncton, where she spoke with @TJProvincial about why it’s vital for students to learn not only about the Holocaust but also Canada’s own human rights history. ca.news.yahoo.com/mobile-classro…

“Small seeds of hate” can grow into something much bigger. This week, FSWC’s Tour for Humanity visited St. Charles Catholic School in Bradford, Ont. where our educator, Ariel Roitman, highlighted an essential lesson: the Holocaust didn’t begin with concentration camps – it began with words. “It’s so important for us to always be thinking about the way we treat and talk to others, especially people that are different from us.” bradfordtoday.ca/local-news/bra…

In honour of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, FSWC delivered a series of educational programs. On Sunday, we hosted our annual Holocaust Education Conference, in partnership with @thethmuseum, where Holocaust survivors, authors and other experts shared powerful insights. Yesterday, we took our programs to Toronto-area schools, Osgoode Hall Law School, Algonquin College and Scotiabank, reaching more than 3,000 students and professionals. These programs, many featuring testimonies from Holocaust survivors, fostered a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and the growing threat of antisemitism today. We are proud to educate and inspire Canadians to ensure such atrocities are never forgotten—and never repeated.

Eighty years ago, on January 27, 1945, Soviet forces liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau, uncovering the unthinkable horrors of the Holocaust. On this solemn anniversary, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we mourn the six million Jewish lives and millions of others senselessly taken by the Nazis and their collaborators. We reflect on the depths of human cruelty and the resilience of those who survived. As antisemitism and hate persist, FSWC remains steadfast in educating future generations, ensuring the promise of "Never Again" endures. #NeverAgain

From educating more than 60,300 students across the country on the Holocaust and human rights to reaching more than 10,800 teachers, police and other professionals with specialized programs that teach about antisemitism, the Holocaust and how to confront hate, it was a busy 2023-2024 year for FSWC’s educators. Here’s a brief overview of our reach and positive impact over the past few months. Read more about FSWC’s Year in Education: fswc.ca/news/reflectin…

Proud to see the impact of FSWC’s Tour for Humanity and educational programs! A principal from the York Region District School Board observed a significant improvement this year in students' understanding of human rights issues and a decrease in incidents of antisemitism. This positive change highlights the transformative power of education.

Educators and community members from the Vancouver area gathered yesterday to celebrate FSWC's first-ever visit to the West Coast with our @TourForHumanity mobile education centre. In partnership with @theVHEC, @JewishVancouver and @JCCVancouver, FSWC hosted a special reception and an exclusive viewing of the bus to mark the occasion. Thank you to the Goldenberg family who donated the second Tour for Humanity bus and the Diamond family whose support has made the Tour for Humanity's journey through Western Canada to deliver Holocaust and human rights education to students possible! fswc.ca/news/vancouver…
