TV and film are vastly different mediums. Producers rule the TV sphere. Directors are part of the assembly line. The showrunner and producers set the style, the director works to match that style because the directors will change frequently.

Pretending that Spider-Man isn't one of the few exceptions to the downward trajectory doesn't make it so. Spider-Man, Deadpool, original Avengers will draw. The rest of Marvel post Endgame is hit or miss.

Call it Buffy. Don't show Buffy til the last scene. Ask why nobody had faith in it. Mantle passing revivals are actually worse than straight up reboots.

Bruh, I completely forgot Doctor Strange made the whole world forget about Peter Parker. For some reason I thought it was only his friends and family. I've got some rewatch homework coming my way in the next few months. 😂

There is a logical line of reasoning for this argument. This doesn't change the fact that it exposes just how enamored Hollywood is with hierarchy and status.

Both The Dune trailer and the Spider-Man trailer left me whelmed. Trailers just don't hit the same for me these days.

I feel the same way when they have the rich characters lose their money. I get the reason from a storytellers perspective, from my own audience perspective. I never enjoyed that particular trope. I also totally forgot Doctor Strange made the whole world forget about him, not just friends and family. I am so far behind. 💀

@Brettdasovic @WellReadOrc It does, and we are talking 20 yrs since Spider-man 2 so I get it. I personally never like the losing of powers trope. I agree, Spidey is a favorite character and aside from the cinematography and some cool visuals I’m not too fired up.

Emotional issues lead to problems with your powers. This is a classic story to tell. I am not a Marvel diehard so I don't know the in universe reason for Banner not knowing or remembering Peter Parker. Maybe that highlights the problem in general. 🤷‍♂️ I can't say I was super excited by this but I will definitely go see it.
