A mule train in West Texas circa 1900. There are 20 mules. That is one HECK of a mule train and they are pulling one HECK of a load. That wagon is something else. My guess is that it's a ranch supply wagon headed south from Alpine or Marathon --- someplace with a railhead. I can't get over how sharp this is. It comes from the wonderful archives of the Portal to Texas history and it is a DOOZY, isn't it? I've ridden horses, of course, but I've never driven a team of horses or mules, and I have a question: After getting everything set up, is it any more work to drive a team of 20 mules than it is a team of 4 or 6? Courtesy the amazing archives of the Portal to Texas History.

A cow, given grass and rain, produces: Meat. Complete protein, top of the bioavailability table. Milk. So nutritionally complete we feed it to our young. Leather. Ten thousand years of footwear. Composts when you're done. Tallow. Stable cooking fat, soap, candles. Currently being sold back to us as skincare at eight times the butcher's price. Bones. Broth, tools, fertiliser. Organs. The most nutrient-dense food on earth, ignored by the culture that buys three supplements to replace them. Manure. Grows the grass. The cycle runs again. Try to engineer that. A machine that takes rain and a patch of grass and produces six complete products while improving the soil and reproducing itself. You can't. We haven't. We're being told to eliminate them. While flying almonds in from California.

I used psilocybin illegally to fight my PTSD. I followed the Johns Hopkins protocol alone in my empty apartment, using mushrooms I got from shady buddies at the local bar. Was it smart? Probably not. But it was my only real option at the time besides suicide. It worked. No veteran should ever have to go through what I did. The VA and most official resources are failing us. If the studies show psilocybin helps — and they do — then let people have safe, legal access to try it. We owe veterans every tool that actually works, not just the same failing pills and therapy sessions. Sometimes the system forces you to take matters into your own hands.

.@joerogan says he sent @POTUS information on the extraordinary effects of ibogaine on veterans with TBI and PTSD: "The text message came back, 'Sounds great! Do you want FDA approval? Let's do it!' It was literally that quick."

“I…held my son while he bled to death.” 12-year-old Dereon James Robinson and 9-year-old Mikhail Lee Smith were killed by an illegal alien driving under the influence. These boys had their whole lives ahead of them. Instead, they were senselessly taken from this world by someone who never should have been in our country. Our prayers are with their families during this tragic time.

As I got off the plane in Washington DC just now an Honor Flight was arriving… It was moving to see these veterans… And everyone applauding… my dad was honored on a similar flight four years ago.

People are mad that Joe Rogan criticizes Donald Trump while still showing up at the White House. That’s not hypocrisy—that’s healthy. If you agree with everything the person you voted for says and does, you’re not thinking… you’re just following. Real support isn’t blind loyalty. It’s being willing to call things out and still want the bigger mission to succeed.

Things you wonder while watching ASPCA ads: 1. Why are they filming those poor dogs instead of immediately warming them up? 2. Why are they asking for my $18 while they're sitting on $466 million in investments? 3. Why is the ASPCA CEO paid $1.2 million per year? 4. Do viewers realize the ASPCA is unaffiliated with local SPCAs across the country?

The New York Times is finally -- FINALLY -- reporting that the Steele dossier has been "discredited." It only took them 10 years.

On this night 251 years ago, two men climbed Old North Church's steeple. They held high two lanterns as a signal from Paul Revere that the British were heading to Concord via the Charles River. Their famous “one if by land, two if by sea” warning ignited the American Revolution.

Spending more while getting less is usually a good sign of corruption, fraud, waste and incompetence. Our education system in California is profoundly broken.

🚨 NOW: Rep. Tim Burchett sounds the alarm that Senate GOP leadership might be PURPOSEFULLY SLOW-WALKING the SAVE America Act — waiting to pass it, or vote on it, when it can't be implemented in time "Something like 80% approval. And yet you can't even get it to a vote in the Senate. I just don't buy it, folks." "I've got a sneaking suspicion that they'll probably attempt to pass it or pass it so late in the dadgum game that it can't get implemented." "And then they can go home and say, oh look, we passed it and everybody will be celebrating patting them on the back." "Then it just cannot get implemented at the state and local level in time for it to have any effect in these elections." "And ultimately, I think that's what you've got. And I'm afraid in the Senate leadership, they have such a hatred of Trump and the conservative movement." "They want things to go back to the status quo, which is them being called from the golf course by the Democrats when it's time to make a vote!" "LET'S KEEP FIGHTING." 🔥

Dwight D. Eisenhower stood before World War II veterans in 1952, tried to speak about D-Day, and broke down mid-sentence as the man who sent 150,000 soldiers into fire could not finish the words. The room was not ordinary. It was filled with survivors. Men who had walked onto the beaches of Normandy. Men who had watched others fall beside them. Dwight D. Eisenhower had carried that decision since June 6, 1944. D-Day. 150,000 Allied troops sent across the English Channel. Open landing craft. Machine-gun fire waiting on the shore. No cover. No retreat once the ramps dropped. The night before, he had written a note. If it failed, it was his responsibility. No one else. He knew what the order meant. He signed it anyway. The invasion succeeded. But thousands were k!LLed or wounded in hours. The beaches were taken. The cost stayed. Eight years later, he stood in front of the men who lived through it. He began to speak. About the soldiers. Farm boys. Workers. Teenagers. Men who trusted his command and walked into gunfire. His voice changed. He paused. Tried to continue. He could not. The sentence stopped. The room stayed silent. No one moved. They knew what he was seeing. Not maps. Not victory. The men who never stood in that room. The general who won the war stood in front of those who survived it and could not speak past the memory of those who did not. “I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can.”
