@GillianKeegan - I'm ashamed that our local MP is the minister for mental health. Mental Health provision in Sussex is a total scandal - and your party is to blame. Give the NHS/CAMHS what they need to do their jobs. It will be too late when our children are dead. @Chiobserver

@withoutstigma That's nice but I have ZERO trust in your organisation-been waiting 2.5 years for a MH assessment for my child. Against protocol sent home from A&E y'day am after a suicide attempt & still no follow up from CAMHS. Do we have to resort to legal challenges to get help for our kids?

Edgar Allan Poe, who died #OTD in 1849, used to write with his cat, Catterina, on his shoulder.A visitor to Poe's home observed the cat "purring as if in approval of the work proceeding under her supervision." Just another reason to love Poe.

Asking all our followers to please retweet the message below. We've never asked for support like this, but we're taking a stand for everyone who suffers from mental health. It's #WorldMentalHealthDay on Oct 10th - we all need to tell our stories & make some NOISE.

Lara Maiklem FSA - The London Mudlark
I'm often asked about the oldest objects I find and the answer is fossils. I picked these up over the last month, Most of the fossils I find on the foreshore are in flint. They probably came to the river in the chalk that was laid down on top of barge beds in the 18th and 19th c

My autochrome enhancements from Arabia have always proven popular, so I thought I would bring 4 of them together for you to enjoy. They were all taken 103 years ago, in March 1918, in the area now known as Jordan. Taken by Paul Castelnau, they are original colour (not colourised)

Under the railway bridge in Acton in around 1858 a man in a top hat is posing next to the very latest technology - a telegraph pole. The first poles were used in 1843 by telegraph pioneer William Fothergill Cooke, who used them on a line along the GW Railway. (BT Archive)
