Your body can detect when someone is looking at you. 👀 Studies suggest that subtle cues like peripheral vision, movement, and pattern recognition help your brain sense when you’re being watched. It’s not a “sixth sense,” but your brain is constantly scanning your environment for attention and threat. You might notice more than you think.

Artemis II marks a major step toward returning humans to deep space, as @NASA tests the spacecraft, systems, and mission operations that will support future journeys beyond low Earth orbit. We’re glad the crew made it home safely, and we can’t wait for Artemis III, the mission NASA says will help prepare the way for astronauts to land on the Moon. #NASA #Artemis #Astronaut #Moon #Science

Sharks are testing positive for cocaine, caffeine, and painkillers?! 🦈 A scientific collaboration in the Bahamas detected these substances in Caribbean reef sharks, nurse sharks, and lemon sharks off the Bahamas. This is likely because human bodies do not fully break down some drugs and chemicals, which can then pass through wastewater and into the ocean. Scientists found these contaminants change sharks’ metabolism and stress markers, raising new questions about how pharmaceutical pollution affects marine life and why stronger wastewater protections matter.

Apollo 13’s 1970 launch was more than a journey to the Moon. It was a powerful demonstration of the science behind space travel. From rocket propulsion to orbital mechanics, the mission relied on discoveries that continue to shape exploration today. Did you watch the Artemis II mission launch? 🚀 Want to learn more? The Artemis II crew is home. 🌏🚀 During @NASA’s 10-day Artemis II mission, Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen became the first humans since 1972 to travel beyond Earth orbit into lunar space. That journey helped test the Orion spacecraft in deep space, along with navigation, communications, and the systems astronauts will rely on during future missions beyond low Earth orbit. Their successful splashdown off the coast of San Diego is a major milestone on the path to Artemis III.

.@NASA Artemis II's image of Earthset is already changing the way we see our world. 🌍 Inspiration4 Astronaut @DrSianProctor thanks the crew for giving humanity this moment, and in his own words, Pilot Victor Glover reminds us what's possible when we bring our differences together and use all of our strengths to accomplish something great.

Scientists are getting closer to helping the body regrow damaged tissue. 🧬 In 2024–2026 studies, stem cells have been guided to repair or regenerate damaged tissue, with success in animal models and early human trials. The future of medicine might be helping the body rebuild itself. Would you trust it?

As NASA’s first Black female engineer, Mary Jackson studied how air flows around aircraft, work that helped advance the science of aerodynamics and improve flight. Her career also helped pave the way for greater inclusion in STEM. #WomeninSTEM #Engineering #NASA #Space #Science

Why do we feed cells pink juice in the lab? 🧃🦠 Marie, also known as Lab Skills Academy, breaks down how cell culture media gives cells the nutrients, sugars, salts, and amino acids they need to survive and grow, while phenol red acts as a pH indicator to show whether their environment is healthy. This carefully controlled system also helps scientists study cell behavior, test new drugs, and explore gene-editing techniques. The Artemis II crew is almost home! @NASA’s Artemis II is beginning to prepare for re-entry. As it re-enters Earth, the Orion spacecraft will hit the upper atmosphere at more than 25,000 miles per hour. This will set a new record for the fastest humans have ever traveled, breaking the previous record set by Apollo 10 in 1969. Once Orion reaches a safe altitude, its parachutes will deploy for a controlled splashdown in the Pacific Ocean off San Diego, completing a mission built on precision physics, advanced engineering, and human exploration.

Sometimes confidence begins when you build something with your own hands. Jenn Makins, a STEM educator and inventor, helps girls discover that tools can do more than teach a skill. Through hands-on making, she shows how curiosity, persistence, and confidence can become the foundation for building their own future. This project is part of IF/THEN®, an initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies.

You can’t hum while holding your nose closed. 🎶 Humming requires air to move through your nasal passages, so blocking them stops the sound. Try it.
