Mock exam season is looming and I’m dreading the marking load already. One simple thing leaders could do during this season to help their staff is cancel all other unnecessary after school events and yet, they do not.

I spent the morning at Compass (Alternative Provision) in Weymouth today. Inspiring work, all pupils activity participating in their learning. Welcoming to visitors and pride in their work. String relationships, positive feedback from families too.

I was pleased to meet with the new Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson MP earlier today and warmly welcome her desire to work with us to deliver change and a new deal for our members
