George Brett was asked a question by a local KC journalist back in 1993 (his last season in MLB) how he envisions his last PA. His response was: “I want it to be me grounding out to 2nd base and making the play close.” I’m probably misremembering the exact quote, but he said something very similar and I remember- as a 25 yr old - that I got chills and it solidified my life long love of this game.
