Don’t grip it and rip it! In order for our body to move properly with speed and power through the zone, we have to be loose and relaxed… until we fire. If we start tight and rigid before we swing, we will actually lose speed and power because we start using the big muscles in our body. That can also cause our direction to work east to west, taking us out of the hitting zone. #baseball #softball #hitting

🚨 Pujols’ Hitting Advice • Focus on seeing the ball • Don’t worry about your mechanics ⭐️ Mechanics are for the cage. When you step in the box, you have to be 100% focused on the ball - nothing else matters.

Baseball is the only sport where you have hours to think during a game. That’s why the mental side becomes the biggest challenge. The goal isn’t to eliminate thoughts. The goal is to control how you respond to them.

If you need to feel 💯 to give 💯 the game isn't for you. That's not to be mean, it's just how it is. Soft has no place in the game. Mentally or physically, the game will eat you up. Fear of failure, fear of what someone else is thinking or saying, fear of getting hurt, you better get a grip on those emotions. Failure will happen. There will always be people talking. There is always a chance of pain and injury. Competitive greatness.

You will strike out. You will make errors. You will pitch bad. That’s baseball. The separator isn’t talent - it’s response. The way you handle failure… The way you reset… The way you compete on the next pitch… 👉 That’s the game. ⚾️

Bobby Witt Jr. Example: • Behind the ball • Posture at contact Don't overlook the posture (line) The more you lean back or lean forward, the path will do the same. (Lean back = more up. Lean forward = down down)

🚨 Gunnar Henderson : Defensive Tips • Think “Hunt” vs. “Attack” the ball • Slow down & find the good hop ⭐️ Many young players are TOO aggressive on grounders & the hop often plays them. Being the “Hunter” allows you to slow down & find the right moment to be aggressive.

A lot of D1 freshmen pitchers will figure it out. It's not because of velocity. Control Command Secondary Pitches Holding Runners Fielding Position Moxie Feel A lot were sold an illusion and they believed it. They thought if they threw hard enough they could pitch in D1 baseball. Someone forgot to tell them about the other things they would be required to do to get innings. Velocity will get you an opportunity but the other things will get you on the mound in games. Average velocity which is upper 8's combined with plus control, above average command, plus secondary pitch, average third pitch, the ability to hold runners and field position gets the pitcher on the field in games at any school in the country. If he is a competitor with moxie and feel.
