If you told me four years ago that I’d be watching videos of a shotgun-mounted Ukrainian drone mercilessly shooting down a swarm of russian drones, I would have laughed. Yet, here we are.

@conorsen According to the US Dept of Transportation, the real average airline fare (in red) has declined 37% since 1995 and 7% since 2022 If the US airline industry is trying to exclusively serve the global elite by raising the price of average airfare, it’s going a terrible job

I've noticed that from the 40s until the mid-80s, in most scenes in movies that showed the sky over an American city (but especially LA) you could see smog. This seemed to be most pronounced in the mid-60s through mid-70s. Opening credits sequences were an exception. Where these sequences included a long shot of a sky over a city, it seems that the filmmakers usually made an effort to shoot early enough in the morning so that the smog wouldn't be all that visible. In more recent decades, air pollution has mostly disappeared from movies shot in American cities, because it has mostly disappeared from American life — one of many ways our lives have gotten better.

Counterpoint: VT and DT are not gerrymanders, because they only have one district each. ME has a Trump +9 district; Republicans just aren't winning it. MA and NH maps were signed by GOP governors. (NH has two winnable seats for GOP in a good year.) MA, RI and HI are all difficult to drawn any GOP-leaning districts in, because of how the population is distributed. The only one of these with less than a "B" rating from the Princeton Gerrymandering Project is NM.
