🚨 Bullied Teen Killed… Months Later His Mother Dies From Grief As Suspect Now Faces Murder Charge 💔 A major update has now been made in a heartbreaking case out of Orlando. On March 6, 2026, 17 year old Elijah Emmans was arrested and charged with first degree murder in connection to the death of Mikhail Cuba, 16. What was first believed to be a hit and run has now taken a much darker turn, as investigators say evidence pointed to something far more intentional. ⸻ 💔 WHAT HAPPENED TO MIKHAIL The tragedy dates back to November 20, 2025. That night, Mikhail was riding his scooter when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. According to investigators, the driver was someone he once knew… a former classmate. Family members say Mikhail had already been dealing with ongoing bullying, and had even been pulled from school before the incident. He didn’t die instantly. Mikhail fought for his life for several days before 🕊️ passing away from his injuries. ⸻ 💔 A LOSS THAT DIDN’T STOP THERE As the case continued to unfold… the family was hit with another devastating loss. Mikhail’s mother, Ashley, passed away this year. Those close to the family say the pain of losing her only child was something she struggled deeply with, leaving loved ones to believe her death was tied to overwhelming grief. 💬 VM&M REFLECTION A teen now facing a murder charge. A boy who never made it home. And a mother who couldn’t survive the loss. Some stories don’t end… they echo. 🕊️ Rest in peace Mikhail Cuba 🕊️ Rest in peace Ashley #JusticeForMikhailCuba #StopBullying #ProtectOurChildren #EndBullying #Orlando #OrlandoFlorida

In October 2014, a 17-year-old named Laquan McDonald was living in Chicago, navigating the uncertain path of adolescence in a large and complex city. Like many teenagers, his life was still unfolding—marked by challenges, choices, and the possibility of change. On the night of October 20, police were called after reports that he was carrying a knife. Officers arrived on the scene as Laquan moved along the street. What happened next would later become one of the most widely scrutinized police encounters in recent American history. Within moments of arriving, an officer opened fire. Laquan McDonald was shot 16 times. The encounter was brief, but its impact would be long-lasting. For more than a year, key details of the incident remained unclear to the public, and questions surrounding the shooting persisted. Then, in 2015, dashcam footage was released. The video showed Laquan moving away from officers at the time he was shot—contradicting earlier official accounts and revealing a version of events that deeply shocked the public. The footage spread quickly, sparking outrage across Chicago and throughout the United States. Protests erupted, with demonstrators demanding accountability, transparency, and justice. The case became a defining moment in national conversations about policing, use of force, and systemic injustice. It added momentum to the growing calls for reform, often associated with movements like Black Lives Matter, which sought to address patterns of violence and inequality. Years later, the officer responsible, Jason Van Dyke, was convicted of murder—an outcome that was seen by many as rare in cases involving police use of deadly force. The conviction marked a significant legal moment, but it also underscored how long it had taken for the truth to fully emerge. Beyond the headlines and the courtroom, however, was a 17-year-old whose life ended far too soon. Laquan McDonald was still growing, still figuring out who he would become. His story remains part of a broader reckoning—one that continues to challenge institutions, demand accountability, and call for a more just future. His name endures, not only as a symbol, but as a reminder of a life cut short and a truth that could not remain hidden. #racism #policebrutalityawareness #policebrutality #walkingwhileblack #NoJusticeNoPeaceProsecuteThePolice

A 25 years old woman, Tanesha Richards, went on one date and rejected the man. He stalked her for over a year with hundreds of calls and texts. Despite her moving, quitting her job, and filing a police report (which was ignored for 7 months), he tracked her down on July 2, 2024, broke into her apartment, and shot her twice, killing her. In March 2026, Bruce Gerard was sentenced to life in prison. But Tanesha? She lost hers, over one date 💔 #JusticeForTanesha #TaneshaRichards #SayHerName #NeverForget #MMIW #WestHouston #JusticeForTaneshaRichards

The founder of Silence the Violence and Shun the Guns first met, then Toronto mayor, John Tory over a decade ago. Since then, our organization has grown into an industry leader in reducing youth gangs, illegal gun violence, and economically motivated youth crime. Even in our infancy, John showed a sincere interest in our mission. Over the years, he would always stop to discuss the rising concerns of gun violence in our beloved city while we conducted our advocacy work. In 2018, an unforgettable tragedy devastated our community: the Danforth shooting. The following Saturday evening, John emerged from Broadview Station on his way to a fundraiser at the Danforth Music Hall, with the media trailing him. We were stationed in front of the CIBC on Broadview, and John paused for a photo op that has since become a cornerstone of our advocacy display. One of a few chance encounters in Greektown after that tragedy on July 18, 2018. Through this display, we discovered an overwhelming number of citizens who deeply respect John Tory’s service to Toronto. Even after his resignation, that respect remains steadfast. Many have told us they are unconcerned with his personal life; instead, they deeply disapprove of his decision to step down and want him to return. While his family initially expressed concerns about the potential for personal attacks, we believe that political critics will exist regardless. We would like to see John Tory make a comeback to prove there is always room for forgiveness—no one is without flaws. Join our grassroots collective movement. Would you display a yard sign to thank John Tory for his service and urge him to return to leadership? Our social media presence on Twitter has become a leading platform for violence awareness, recently going viral a number of times with over 20,000 likes. If we receive enough commitments, we will move into full production and mass distribution. Time is of the essence. For $125 CAD, you can secure your yard sign and join our grassroots collective movement to show that Toronto misses John Tory’s leadership. This is a classy, visible way to express your unqualified support. We need to act quickly so he will have enough time to launch his reelection campaign. Even if he chooses not to reconsider, he deserves to know he will always be "the people’s mayor." John Tory is Toronto. Urge him to reclaim the throne. A Dallas County jury sentenced James Michael Patrick, a white man, to 72 years in prison in January 2025 for the brutal murder of his wife, Jenean Chapman, a Black woman and former personal assistant to @SarahFerguson, the Duchess of York. Chapman was found dead in her Dallas apartment in October 2023, with her face and body left so severely injured that her family described her as unrecognizable. #JusticeForJenean #JeneanChapman #SayHerName #NeverForget #MMIW #Dallas #JusticeForJeneanChapman

On Friday, March 13, 2026, 14-year-old Kailon Price was shot and killed last week while riding his scooter in Memphis, TN. Kailon was a bright, energetic teenager who brought joy into every room. He had his whole life ahead of him, and had dreams of opening a grocery store to give back to his community. Our hearts are with Kailon’s family as they grieve this senseless loss. We’ll always fight for a safer future where all kids can safely play in their communities. #BLM #BlackLivesMatter #GunViolence #NoJusticeNoPeace

Remembering... Dayvon Taylor was in the care of a 23-year-old man, Tyler D'Shaun Martin Brand, when he suffered injuries that ultimately led to his death. The child had been in the man’s care for several days over the holiday break. Family members described the man as Dayvon’s coach at a school in South Los Angeles, where Dayvon was a student. Police described the man as an “acquaintance” of the child’s mother. Prosecutors described him as the boy’s godfather. “My son had a lot of love, a lot of love. And it’s really touching that he can’t be here to see it,” Dayvon’s father said. “I loved my son to death. That boy got everything he wanted,” said his mother. But the man who had him for several days decided to punch him in the chest with a closed fist 10 times and the blunt force trauma that he received from that attack resulted in his death. The killer pleaded no contest to murder and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. He did not get 15 years in prison! For those who don’t know what it means when a sentence says “to life in prison” it means that after a certain amount of years he’ll be eligible for parole. But in the majority of murders, the parole is denied, especially if it involved an innocent, unsuspecting victim. We are hoping that he won’t be paroled in 15 years. This boy did not deserve this. Susan Kuhnhausen was an emergency room nurse in Portland. In September 2006, after finishing a shift at the hospital, she returned home unaware that a man had broken into her house and was waiting to kill her. The intruder was Edward Haffey, a drug-addicted criminal who had been hired to murder her by her estranged husband, Michael Kuhnhausen. When Haffey attacked, Susan immediately fought back. Because of her medical training and quick thinking, she managed to overpower the larger attacker. During the struggle she pinned him down and choked him until he lost consciousness and died, effectively killing the hitman in self-defense. Afterward, Susan called police and calmly explained what had happened. Investigators soon uncovered that her husband Michael had paid about $7,000 to have her killed so he could avoid a costly divorce. The case went to court in Multnomah County, where prosecutors presented evidence that Michael had orchestrated the murder-for-hire plot. In 2008, he was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Susan was never charged because the killing was ruled lawful self-defense. Her story later became widely known as an example of resilience and presence of mind under extreme danger. #selfdefense #domesticviolence #violence #murderforhire
