Businessmen. Some of the most powerful people in Nigeria had been coming to this forest to swear oaths over stolen money and political deals. If you swear on Ogwugwu and break your oath, the priests come for you. 31 shrine priests were arrested and paraded in Abuja. Not one politician was questioned. Not one governor was charged. Chris Ngige later became a Senator. Then a Minister under Buhari. The shrine is still there. This is Nigeria. 🇳🇬
