@tt_ttaa41634614 Protestants, Orthodox, and our holy church all deny this. The entirety of Christian align on them being Christian.
English

Do you really lack the theory of mind to such a degree that you are incapable of understanding nationalists just love their people regardless of superiority or inferiority in any given measurement?
It's hard to believe you genuinely are incapable of just being able to entertain such a simple hypothetical.
English

@MillennialWoes @sortitionist @jonathanle13 @orangedmv @nikicaga This just in- universities tell their high paying foreign students with rich parents that they have inherently superior kids!
Also, if this were true, guys like you would be champing at the bit to bring Chinese people over in droves. But you don’t! Wonder why?
English

The left often has a poor theory of mind of the right, but it absolutely cannot compare to how little they understand us
Like this thread is full of people who unironically believe all leftists want to see all white nations go extinct
ℜ𝔞𝔢@dystopiangf
Leftists who nerd out about Vikings, Celtic music, Ancient Greek philosophy, or anything to do with European history & culture confuse me so much. It’s like, “Otters are my favorite animals :) I can’t wait for them all to go extinct :))”
English

I'm fine with broadly treating every citizen as equal along as citizenship can be seriously measured and defined. You wouldn't want infinite Somalians. It's pretty obvious you can just swap out any government with the American constitution and get the same result as America, it's been tried.
English

@jonathanle13 @evrythngmachne @MillennialWoes @nikicaga If true, why did treating them equally regardless lead to western global hegemony anyways
English

@evrythngmachne @MillennialWoes @orangedmv @nikicaga Not really blind twin studies and genetics have kind of disproven this.
We can look at the bare outcomes as well.
English

@MillennialWoes @orangedmv @nikicaga “All leftist ideas are exhausted and disproven by reality.”
*proceeds to provide one of the most researched, tested, and repeatedly proven correct ideas that has been nominally the basis of western world hegemony for the past 80 years*
English

@MillennialWoes @nikicaga An accessible public option for healthcare leads to the extinction of British people?
English

@LadyUltrasuede @chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod Sure, the argument moves to who are actually participating and following the commandments and if the spirit or the exact wording is more important.
English

@jonathanle13 @chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod Judeo-Christian is the answer I’m looking for. So close! Hashem started out as the G-d of the Jewish people before Christianity. So while we can discuss whether He supports a Christian system, that religion branched out from Judaism.
English

@OS_FlashREBORN @RazorFist @Nero He is kinda of famously Christian and has done mission work so idk, I think he gets to speak on the issue.
English

@RazorFist @Nero Temu tough guy who made his career talking about pop culture enters the chat to lecture actual practicing Christians on their doctrine.
English

@RazorFist @Nero Atheist here. My questions are out of ignorance and not malice.
Why does it matter? They call themselves Christian, the read the Bible. So does the Catholics, Orthodox, Lutherans, etc.
If they walk, talk, and pray like Christians is the variation in doctrine that bad?
English

Yeah, and in the New Testament, we see they foresake God's teachings and commandments, favoring the strict word over the spirit of the law. The sabboth, for example.
If we take the bible at face value, God obviously supports a Christian system. If we take any other religions holy text, their god or gods obviously support their proposed values.
English

@jonathanle13 @chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod Ahh, but that’s tangential to the thesis we’re discussing, namely your argument against “i don't think god is christian considering it's a religion built on his idea but i could be wrong”.
The first followers of Christ were other Jews, which is why “Jews for Jesus” is a thing.
English

@Tyler_King40 @SurelyNotHank @CrankyHankJ I'm going yo assume you answer yes to most of those since you refuse to answer any lol.
English

@SurelyNotHank @CrankyHankJ When you are in discussion with someone is it not reasonable to ask them how they arrived at their conclusion to better understand where they are coming from?
English

Come on, Mormons. These ten yes-or-no questions should be easy for you. Step forward. Tell us what you believe:
1) Was God the Father once a human?
2) Was God the Son created?
3) Are Jesus & Satan spirit brothers?
4) Was Jesus not God at any point in His life?
5) Are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit three separate and distinct gods?
6) Was Jesus first conceived a spirit child by the Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother, and then "begotten in flesh" when the Heavenly Father had sex with the Virgin Mary?
7) When Jesus returns, will He set up a 1000 year global theocracy based in Jackson County, Missouri?
8) Can humans become gods with all the same attributes as God the Father?
9) Are there other gods just like the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit?
10) Does the leader of your organization receive "revelations from God" that have as much authority as the Bible?
English

@LadyUltrasuede @chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod He wasn't presching modern jewish doctrine though, entirely the opposite. You could argue that moderm Christians are jews in the same sense Christ was, but to propose Christ did not see himself as the promised messiah would he foolish.
English

@jonathanle13 @chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod FYI Jesus Christ wasn’t Christian either. He was Jewish, and a rabbi. The Last Supper was a Passover Seder.
English

@LadyUltrasuede @chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod Okay, so was Ayn Rand, an objectivitist?
And I didn't say God was created for Christianity.
English

@jonathanle13 @chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod Ayn Rand was Objectivist, and no, G-d wasn’t created for Christians. Christianity began as a cult of Judaism (which, by the way, was Ayn Rand’s belief system before atheism).
English

@spiderking232 @Muhscle07 Wdym not how those verses are read? By who? Sincere question, no gotcha.
English

@Muhscle07 I red what you said, that is not how those verses read, and I am no longer interested in continuing this dialogue.
English

@BebopJosh @ShiloPlatts Even if I grant everything, you're also including muslims and hindus in your definition of Christian.
English

@jonathanle13 @ShiloPlatts We follow Christ from the Bible.
You invent numerous false version of him and pretend that’s who we follow.
It’s a disgusting perversion of the gospel, but you feel justified because of your moral superiority.
English

MORMONS—ARE THEY CHRISTIANS? Utah Senator Mike Lee has started a firestorm on X, asking why a list of religious denominations put out by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth does not categorize Mormons as Christians.
As a Catholic, I know Church teaching is very clear on this subject: Mormon baptisms are not recognized by the Catholic Church as trinitarian, Christian baptisms.
I have never believed Mormons are Christians. This is not an indictment of whether they tend to be good people. To be sure, I was raised in Utah, I had countless Mormon friends growing up, and many of my relatives are of the Mormon faith. They are some of the kindest, most gracious, family-oriented, and value-driven people I know. They are also not Christians.
Mike Lee@BasedMikeLee
If only we, as Latter-day Saints, belonged to a church that had “Jesus Christ” in its name and His image in its logo … Oh wait
English

@BebopJosh @ShiloPlatts Muslims and Hindus also believe and follow Christ. You can find many non-Christians who find Christ interesting, make up things, and "follow him".
English

@ShiloPlatts If the criteria to be Christian is anything other than following Christ, as yours is, I do not accept that definition.
You are a Nicene Christian.
I am a follower of Christ who you pretend isn’t even good enough to be a Christian.
Each their own.
English

@Sapientia400 @Quasy021 @Preslavets This may be true, however the Catholic church still recognizes prot baptisms.
English

@Quasy021 @Preslavets Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, etc and their revolts from Catholicism absolutely paved the way for Joseph Smith to create his own church.
English

@Arcreonis @RevHansen1563 Yeah, anyone who submits to the church he founded.
English

@RevHansen1563 What is a Christian, Jonathan?
Did Jesus give us any clues as to who His disciples would be?
Or do you get to decide who's a Christian and who isn't?
English

@chompcronch @InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod Is Ayn Rand not Randian in her beliefs?
Wouldn't anyone who produces any belief system and adheres to it, be a particianer of it?
English

@InsaneCope @TheTweetOfGod i don't think god is christian considering it's a religion built on his idea but i could be wrong
English

@_consistent_man @MallardReborn Forgetting the founders
English

@jonathanle13 @MallardReborn There are no professed prophets or apostles in Catholicism
English

My favorite thing Mormons do is follow a prophet who claimed all Christian churches are apostate and then complain that all these apostate Christian churches won't include them in the Christian club.
Mike Lee@BasedMikeLee
If only we, as Latter-day Saints, belonged to a church that had “Jesus Christ” in its name and His image in its logo … Oh wait
English

@nodnarblack @davverista I mean, likely, another issue is some Hindus and all Muslims also believe in "Christ and his teachings"
Wouldn't actual Christians themselves be better at defining what the faith actually is?
English

We constantly explain why; Mormons simply reject the explanation. To be a Christian you must believe in the Trinity and in the integrity and finality of the New Testament.
LEGO Joseph Smith@Mormonger
Notice that no one who say "Mormons aren't Christians" can explain why
