DACA was never a legal status, nor a path to citizenship. It was merely an executive order issued during the Obama era and was never passed by Congress. Right now, there are about 506,000 people with active DACA status in the US. Over a million initial applications have been received since 2012, with roughly 835,000 approved — that’s the number of unique people who ever got DACA. Many have renewed multiple times, so total requests top 4.5 million. As for how many became naturalized citizens or permanent residents — there are no recent official totals. The last solid figure was from 2019, when about 76,000 had adjusted to green card status and just 4,000 of those had naturalize citizenship. Only 4k wanted to become citizens out of 835k.
