Sean Mannion could very well end up having success, but ultimately not bringing in someone with play-calling experience feels like a potentially disastrous situation for the 2026 season.

In Mannion’s defense — you have to start somewhere. And an offense consisted of Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith and maybe AJ Brown is a pretty ideal group to start with.

@KBeckEagles Kellen Moore's first year as OC the Cowboys led the NFL in total offense. Mannion seemed to do a heck of a job with Love and Willis. Highly regarded. I am intrigued.

@KBeckEagles At one point McVay didn’t have any play calling experience until the Redskins gave him a chance. This ultimately led to him becoming one of the better head coaches in the league. I like Mannion’s potential.

@KBeckEagles The only thing is, and it might not be the same, but checking in while in the game, understanding the coverage, and what works on the field might be a reason.
