🚨 Pawtato Land - Security Incident Update As most of you already noticed: our Cross-Smart-Contract package was exploited. 📜 Summary Shit happened, but the damage is manageable. This is definitely not the end. The exploit impacted resource tokens: it drained liquidity from LPs and the Bazaar, and it enabled certain Tool upgrades using fabricated resources. Lands, Heroes, and $TATO are not affected. We've evaluated countless options going forward and agreed on the following path: We will reset resource token and Tool holdings to the state right before the first hacker action. While LP/Bazaar losses can't be reverted, we will put together a compensation plan for affected users. ⚠️ DO NOT BUY ANY RESOURCE TOKENS OR TOOL NFTS, AS ALL HOLDINGS WILL BE RESET TO A HISTORICAL SNAPSHOT DATE AND THE CURRENT TOKENS/TOOL NFTS ARE DISCONTINUED. ✅ LAND, HEROES, EQUIPMENT AND $TATO CAN BE TRADED WITHOUT LIMITATION. We won't sugarcoat this. But we also do see a clear opportunity: we'll use this as a breaking point to accelerate key steps on our roadmap - moving Pawtato Land from a native Web3 game toward a borderless Web2.5 experience sooner than planned. ⬇️ Detailed breakdown below. ➡️ What happened? The attacker managed to generate an Admin Cap and mint resource tokens, dumped them, and drained the pools. These resource tokens are a major part of the Pawtato Land game economy - powering the entire system. ➡️ The result This didn't just create a "temporary imbalance". It caused irreversible damage to the economic dynamics and long-term stability of Pawtato Land as it exists today. ➡️ The part that matters most: What happens now? First of all: respect. The last hours proved something again - the Pawtato community is built different. People stayed calm, stayed rational, and didn't instantly nuke everything. That's rare in crypto. And as you know: the Pawtato team is built on resilience - and lightning speed. So the question "Can we recover?" has one answer: Challenge accepted. - Will it take time? Yes. - Will it take resources? A lot. - Will it force major shifts and delays? Of course. Because the entire economy layer was affected. But we're not here to fold. We're here to rebuild. ➡️ Moving forward: We accelerate our strategy for 2026 We've said this before: 2026 was always about going Web2.5 - not to abandon Web3, but to break out of the bubble and build something that's usable by anyone, even non-crypto players. This incident is the breaking point that forces the step earlier than planned. ➡️ What that means (simple) - We will take a historical snapshot of all tokens and Tool NFTs before the first known hacker action. Sadly, Sui does not make this easy - especially snapshots considering Turbos, Cetus, Aftermath LPs etc, but we will do our best. - We will reset and rebuild from that snapshot. - Lands, Heroes and $TATO remain Web3. - Everything else moves to Web2 so we can rebuild the economy cleanly and make the system scalable, usable, and stable. ➡️ Resources Tokens & NFT-Collections - All current existing Resource Tokens will be discontinued ($TATO is unaffected) DO NOT BUY ANY RESOURCE TOKENS AS THOSE WILL BECOME WORTHLESS; NEW RESOURCES WILL BE CREATED AND ALL HOLDINGS WILL BE RESET TO A HISTORICAL SNAPSHOT DATE - All Tool NFTs will be discontinued DO NOT BUY ANY TOOL NFTS AS THOSE WILL BECOME WORTHLESS; NEW TOOLS WILL BE CREATED AND ALL HOLDINGS WILL BE RESET TO A HISTORICAL SNAPSHOT DATE - Heroes, Lands & Equipment will stay. These collections will remain intact and can be traded without limitation ➡️ Why Web2.5 is the right move This isn't "going soft". It's going smart. Web2.5 unlocks: - real usability (onboarding normal users) - multi-chain options (economic expansion, including other blockchains) - scholarship / account systems - faster development speed - and most importantly: a more robust system that isn't that vulnerable to exploits It's how we go from "crypto-native" to "mass market" - and that's what was planned for 2026 anyway. ➡️ The new core priority and roadmap changes At the center of this rebuild are two pillars: - a massive orderbook exchange powered by $TATO - a proper bridge between web3 and web2 These were planned later. Now they're mandatory. This shift will push back other parts of the 2026 roadmap. What that means in practice: - Tribal Conflicts and Land Placement will come later. - We're going all-in on getting back online ASAP. - Current estimate: back online with the major rebuild in ~1 month. ➡️ Next updates - Snapshot details + timing - a simplified Web2/Web3 breakdown graphic (how things will work) - updated roadmap + timeline - damage assessment after snapshot + compensation approach (once we can quantify it properly) Pawtato will come back stronger. The Phoenix always rises from its ashes.
