Effiong most recently earned 4x400m Gold at the World Indoor Championships. Originally set for May 8, the meet was postponed with athlete and spectator safety in mind. The new venue’s temperature-controlled stadium ensures safe competition despite the June heat. The meeting is now the 8th stop on the 2026 Diamond League calendar, slotted between Oslo (June 10) and Paris (June 28). The season opens May 16 in Shanghai/Keqiao and wraps Sept 4–5 at the Final in Brussels. The league shared it would continue monitoring the situation in the Middle East in the coming weeks. #DiamondLeague
