Day 4 of MONEYMAXXING. It’s been 6 days since I got fired from Riot. Since then, my net worth has quite literally 10x. Granted, the vast majority of that is due to a generational opportunity in the stock market that I identified and went hard on 0dte options on. I have already sold all and cashed out, and do not plan on touching options again unless a second opportunity like this presents itself. Which tbh is very very unlikely in the near future. I will always throw myself at the biggest opportunity space that I see, regardless of if I have prior experience at something. That is how I worked at Riot, I went around and talked to everyone and fixed their problems. Due to the sheer variety of people I built things for and advised, I would not be surprised if I was quite literally the best person in the world at identifying internal tooling opportunities. One of my best traits as an entrepreneur is probably the fact that sucken cost fallacy doesn’t affect me. I spent years getting to rank 1 in Clash Royale, then quit when it made the most sense. I was team USA pipeline for volleyball, and threw that away the second I realized that I’m not getting any taller. I regret nothing. Every single pivot I’ve done in my life has always been the objectively correct thing to do. This goes hand in hand with my ability to take and iterate on feedback. Many times I’ve spent months building a feature, only to scrap it immediately after realizing the end user would rather prefer __. Yesterday, one of my clients (tbh I don’t even consider him a client anymore, he’s my day1 at this point) told me about how he would rather have __, and that he has 4-5 immediate companies he can think of that would also love it, and can recommend the product to. It made so much sense to me, cus I think that product would be absolute 🔥 as well. So I put my original B2C idea to the sideline for now. A better opportunity has presented itself. I actually did 2 pivots in the span of 2 hours yesterday. The first is what I just described. The latest pivot is, I am going to be making a public run at pitching to Elon Musk, and will continue to do so until he gives me 5 minutes of his time. “wtf, that is so random.” I am a strong believer that everyone should use all the insider knowledge at their disposal. By insider, I do not mean anything illegal, like government, trade secrets, etc. I mean the insider knowledge that you and me have. For example, I was only able to identify the generational stock opportunity after talking to my friend in Iran. Funny as that sounds, I never would have seen it if I didn’t befriend one of my Twitch viewers from 6 years ago. Regardless of your initial motivation for talking to someone, I believe it is incredibly high value to talk to the biggest variety of people as possible. You never know what that will get you. I know, for a fact, that @ElonMusk has a 99% chance of looking at my profile and tweets tomorrow, sometime in the afternoon most likely. I’m not going to disclose how I know that publicly. Elon will know and that’s enough. So, Elon, if you are reading this, here is my value that I am putting on the table. I am narrow in my skillset, autistically knowledgeable in very few things. The average middle schooler will have knowledge that I don’t. But I happen to have 2 insane areas of expertise that is just stupid cracked when put together. One of them is my knowledge of Applied AI. I will not claim to be the best in world at this, but I imagine myself to be very very close to the top. The other is my ability to analyze things, to think about things on far deeper levels than the average person. You yourself is much much better than me at this right now, but I imagine I am probably close to your skill level here when you were my age. Now, putting these two skills together is actually the most OP combination ever in this new age. It lets me identify insane market opportunities that simply will never occur to people who are “just” an Applied AI expert, or “just” an Analyst. The average person looking at my tweet right now is going to think I am insane for saying this, but I have a few key insights for you that will shave years off of your life mission of making the human race multi-planetary. “wtf do you know about space.” Absolutely nothing, my insights for you is not related to the actual technology behind it at all. Simply fat opportunities that I am already able to spot as an outsider. There is no doubt that I can spot even more as an insider, past our initial meeting of you choosing to give me a chance here. At Riot, I had written a strategy document. Over the span of 6 weeks, the CEO, the Harvard MBA, has opened it on at least 10 different days. He didn’t know about my termination, and he is most likely extremely pissed at the middle manager that fired me right now. Dylan, I’m so sorry for putting you on blast, but you guys fucked up and did me so fucking dirty that I have no moral obligations to do what is best for Riot Games right now, not when the information can further establish my career and credibility. Elon, give me 5 minutes of your time, and I will show you how Riot Games fumbled the biggest generational talent they ever had and ever will have.

Yesterday was my last day at Riot Games. It’s been 3 years since I dropped out and joined the company. And despite the way my relationship with Riot ended, this has been the best learning experience I could have asked for. I had the chance to work with an amazing, passionate group of people, and count it among my many blessings. I was fired. I did not leave, and I was not laid off. I’m not going to come on here and pretend otherwise. They flat out fired me, and offered me 15k to keep my mouth shut. Needless to say, I did not take them up on that. The official reason for my termination that I was given was about an Applied AI pitch deck I made. I had put it up as a website with a password protection on it before sharing the site with our execs. They are claiming that I broke confidentiality. While I highly doubt that this was the real reason, I’m not gonna open myself up to libel by saying here what I believe the real reason to be. There has been no proof that anyone outside of Riot has seen the pitch deck, and that the security measures I’ve taken were not enough. What is more absurd, however, is that our CEO and various other execs have read it, told me how much they enjoyed reading it, and further encouraged me to explore the concepts I’ve outlined in the deck. Zero mention of needing me to take it down. If this was the decision of a random middle manager up my chain of command, I would have found that a lot easier to accept. What broke me though was the fact that an exec who I viewed as a role model, one of two people that I shared the deck with originally, who explicitly told me to share it out further, he knew about my termination ahead of time. And he did nothing to stop it. I was sad. Then I was pissed. Then I was sad and pissed. Now though, all I feel is an overwhelming sense of freedom. Normally, posting something like this is a big no no, since it will kill your chances of ever working in corporate. Luckily for me, I have made the decision that I will never work corporate again. Riot, if you’re reading this, I have also made the decision to not legally pursue the case of wrongful termination. We’re cool. I’m taking today off. Tomorrow is my first day as an entrepreneur. This is a step that I’ve thought about taking for a while now, but could never bring myself to leave Riot for. In a twisted way, I’m grateful the decision’s been made for me. I have a few ideas on direction. I will not be raising money. And I cannot wait to build, truly build.

Patch 26.3 Preview! This is a huge patch after we've had a bit of time to assess how things have landed and things have taken some time to settle. Will go more in depth about champion changes tomorrow, especially the jungle changes. Ranked - We're triaging a few things related to Apex negative LP gains that we're seeing in a few regions (+17/-23 kind of things) - We're also looking at some duo queue adjustments for literally top 20 challenger levels of duos to make those a bit more balanced - As a reminder, these things that we've been posting about recently with the Ranked ladder don't affect 99.9% of Ranked players, but matter a lot to the Masters+ crew and we're still trying to fine tune behavior here - I'm going to write more of a detailed Masters+ retro about some of the considerations that went into the changes this year as well as some of the follow up changes we're doing in a few days, especially after validating some of the hunches for the cause of the negative LP gains Game Metrics - We've seen game snowballiness continue to stabilize lower than Season 15 values - Game times are also coming down a bit back to S15 values - As discussed in a previous preview though, players feel like downtime is down and so feel like the game is faster. On the flip side, there are many players saying that this Season feels really fun and part of that is due to how much action is going on - We're going to let it ride a bit though, as it seems like players are getting used to a new normal here and at least a good portion are finding it more fun - What we are changing though is how much players are worth for repeat kills on a player who is not worth that much; we reduced this in 26.1 but are pulling it back a bit - At the same time, we're investigating what communicating this state looks like on the scoreboard, but have a pretty strong aversion to cluttering up the scoreboard with a lot of exact numbers; nothing to share back yet on that front, but doing some investigations Towers & Objectives - There's been a lot of discussion about how threatening first Baron is and also a bit about how much damage junglers do to objectives - We're not planning to change a lot here on 26.3, but may change some of these dynamics for 26.4 after observing more Vision - With early game faelights and slower first clears, early ganks have been a bit harder to come by - We're pushing back early game yellow trinket cds back to S15 values (170 >>> 210s) to make warding a bit less "free" and early ganks a bit more successful on average Items - There will be more detail on the item changes tomorrow with full preview, but I just wanted to talk about 2 ahead of time - Actualizer (which is currently only a Ryze item) is getting a buff to be viable on more users. At the same time though, Ryze is getting nerfed - The entire package is intended to be a net negative to Ryze and he's getting nerfed indirectly by a lot of changes this patch - Dusk & Dawn has been a super hot topic! - We don't think Dusk & Dawn is overpowered overall, but there are champions that synergize very well with it that will ultimately be hard bound to it - This is totally fine though; plenty of champions love and are hardbound to certain items and we hope that D&D is one of those that those users find very satisfying - This is ultimately why we're choosing to nerf the champions that predominantly purchase the item, while still leaving it viable for the fringe users - Having said that, we think the item power budget and shape is a bit off - D&D was intended to be less damage-y and more bruisery than its other AP sheen counter part - Lich Bane - We're adjusting its profile (+HP, -Damage) to better suit this
