Is this a brand new scientific revelation? They are surprised at how the Earth and the Moon move together through space, locked in their paths without colliding. Allah described this orbital mechanics over 1400 years ago in a way that modern astronomy is just catching up to. In Surah Ya-Sin (36:40), Allah says: لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِي لَهَا أَن تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ "It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit." Look at the specific Arabic word used at the end of that verse: يَسْبَحُونَ (yasbahun). This translates to swimming or floating smoothly along a course. It is the perfect, literal description of celestial bodies gliding through the vacuum of space, bound by what these scientists now call gravity. They are not fixed to solid domes like the ancient Greeks believed. They are floating in their designated paths. Allah repeats this in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:33): وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ "And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all in an orbit are swimming." They spend billions of dollars on deep space satellites and telescopes just to post an image of what an unlettered Prophet in the desert recited to his companions centuries ago. The truth has always been there for anyone willing to read. We are and will be always 1400+ years ahead no matter the billions you spend.

Dear Zuha, I know you are inquisitive about how our religious days fit into the modern world. It is a brilliant question. I will be breaking this down for you so you can clearly see that Islam is not a copycat. It is a complete system with its own deep, independent roots. Firstly, you asked: if the Gregorian calendar is not real, why do Muslims pray on Friday, and is there a different Friday in the Islamic calendar? To help you and others understand, we have to go back to history. Pope Gregory was the one who introduced the Gregorian calendar, and he introduced it in 1582. However, when you look at Islamic history, you will see that Muslims had been observing Jumu'ah for nearly a thousand years before that Pope was even born. If you open classical books of Islamic history such as the Seerah of Ibn Hisham or The Sealed Nectar, the physical proof is right there. These books documented the very first Jumu'ah prayer held by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in 622 CE. It took place in the valley of Ranuna during his migration from Mecca to Medina. In that same era, Allah revealed an entire chapter in the Quran called Surah Al-Jumu'ah, where He commanded the believers to leave their worldly trades and gather. This proves Yawm al-Jumu'ah was a lived reality in the 7th century, over 900 years before the Gregorian calendar existed in Rome. Now, you might wonder how this connects to the Friday we know today. Frankly, the seven day weekly loop is an entirely different system from how we count solar or lunar months. It is an ancient, unbroken mathematical cycle. You do not even have to take my word for it. Non Muslim historians and sociologists agree on this. For instance, Eviatar Zerubavel in his book The Seven Day Circle confirmed that this weekly cycle has remained completely unbroken for thousands of years across different empires. The day the Western world decided to call Friday aligns seamlessly with the sixth day of that ancient cycle. In Arabic, the days are just numbered. Sunday is Day One. Monday is Day Two. The sixth day is Yawm al-Jumu'ah, the Day of Gathering. This means we do not pray on this day to honor a Roman calendar. That is, it was just a coincidental relationship. We pray on it because Allah established it on a divine timeline. Secondly, you asked: why is Friday night considered so blessed, and what are you missing here? To understand this, we have to look at the foundations of human existence. Friday goes more than just the end of the work week. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that Friday is the day Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) was created, the day he entered Paradise, the day he was sent to earth, and the day the world will end. This is why the Prophet had a very profound routine. Every Friday during the early morning Fajr prayer, he would recite Surah As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Insan. He did this deliberately. These two chapters detail the creation of the universe, the biological creation of man, and the intense realities of the Day of Judgment. Praying these chapters every Friday morning is a divine reset. It reminds you of your origin and your final destination, both of which are tied to this specific day. Because Friday carries the heavy weight of the end of times, reciting Surah Al-Kahf is your spiritual shield. The Surah contains stories about the ultimate trials of wealth, power, and faith. Reading it provides a divine light that protects your heart from the materialistic noise of the world and the deception of the Dajjal until the next Jumu'ah. So by this fact, you are not missing anything. You just need to see that we are not following a Gregorian Friday. We are following a divine timeline. Don’t fret. Allah knows best.
Zuha Malik@zoemalyks_chai

I have a question. If the Gregorian calendar isn't real, why do Muslims pray jummah and recite surah kahf on Friday? Why is Friday night considered so blessed in Islam? Is there a different Friday in the Islamic calendar? What am I missing here?

🚨🇷🇺🇮🇷🇺🇸 PUTIN ON IRAN: “Iran fulfilled all of its obligations under the well-known nuclear deal. All of them. Then U.S. President Trump unilaterally decided to withdraw from the agreement, while the Europeans were saying, ‘Yes, it’s bad that the Americans have withdrawn, but you Iranians must comply with everything’ I apologize if this sounds a bit rude, but what the hell are the Iranians supposed to comply with?”

This is one of the most common silent struggles destroying young people today, be it Muslims or non-Muslims. If I am to answer your question straight away. Yes. Allah will forgive you. The fact that you feel this shame and guilt, and you are asking this question means your heart is still very much alive. The biggest trick Shaytan plays on you happens the moment you close the tab. He drops a heavy blanket of shame on you. He wants you to feel so dirty and so hypocritical for breaking your promise to Allah that you stop asking for forgiveness. He wants you to think your repentance is fake. Do not buy that lie. If you fall a thousand times, you crawl back a thousand and one times. Allah's mercy does not have a limit. Shaytan just wants to put a limit in your head. Having said that, we need to talk about the real problem here. I know you want a solution. But you know what? Relying on pure willpower will never work. I know you know this too. Therefore, we have to look at why you keep going back. Based on what I have read, porn is rarely about physical desire. It is a painkiller. It is a coping mechanism. When you are stressed, feeling deeply lonely, or overwhelmed by a reality you do not want to face, your brain looks for a quick hit of dopamine to numb the pain. And since we are a free hyper-sexualized world, you find it very easy to use your screen as an escape hatch. However, when the high wears off, the reality you ran away from is still waiting for you. Now it is compounded by spiritual guilt. That guilt creates more stress. That stress triggers the urge to escape again. It is a vicious loop. I know you’ve been in this vicious cycle several times, hence your question… If I am prescribe a permanent and sustainable cure for you, the best way is to read and learn the root psychology of sins yourself. Forget all those tips you see online. The best way is to immerse yourself in knowledge. This is because if you know it, it will help you prevent it, break it if you are in it, and teach you the way out. I am prescribing a book that has rescued millions of people from this very pit. You need to read "The Disease and the Cure" (Al-Daa' wa al-Dawaa') by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim. A man came to Ibn al-Qayyim centuries ago. He was completely broken. He asked if there was any hope for a sin that had completely hijacked his life. The Imam wrote this entire book as a direct response to that one man. It is a profound masterclass in human psychology. Ibn al-Qayyim breaks down the anatomy of a sin. He shows you how a passing thought turns into a whisper. He shows how that whisper becomes a burning urge, and how that urge hardens into a chain around your neck. He teaches you how to intercept the thought at the root before it gains power over your limbs. He also teaches you how to seek divine intervention and how to repair your broken relationship with your lord. These are things you need to know. Get the English translation. Read it slowly. You have to start addressing the real stress and voids in your life instead of running away from them. Put strict physical blocks on your devices so your moments of weakness require too much effort to act upon. Ultimately, start making concrete plans for marriage. You need it. Work hard to accelerate your financial freedom and get a wife. Keep fighting. Those who fight win. May God make it easy for you and many others who are currently struggling with …
