Skeb/Suprise outfits and illustrations. I thought I'd show people some of the skeb designs and illustrations I have received. Firstly, always read the Terms and Conditions of the artist or platform you're using. I say platform as the first three of these are from Skeb itself. Secondly, prepare your own references for your OC. If you are using an OC you currently have, point out the important things you would like to be seen. Example: - 9 ice tipped tails, and ice tipped ears. These are large and fluffy. - The ice cracks on my shoulders, thighs and calves. - White pupils - Blue underneath my hair while the white is on top - Beauty spots These are some of my main key points, and I will provide very good examples of them. I will even circle them if needed on my references or have close ups. Thirdly, I always have a variety of references. These could include poses, outfits, colour palettes. A lot of skeb artists WANT to know what you have in mind. Giving full creative freedom can actually be a detriment to both you and the artist. I know many artists who struggle without input because anxiety/fear gets to them if the client would like it or not and if it's their theme. - Have pose ideas. - Have outfit ideas, these could be pulled from pinterest, google, magazines, games, etc etc. - Colour palette if it's not around your main colours. - Reference some of their older works if you like them. Artists will never (or should never) trace/completely draw what you're requesting. I even say "Hey, I like x, x and x but please draw them in your own style, way, whatever you have in mind." Make your communication clear and concise. I have both visuals uploaded to google drive, and each file I use is named specifically and the parts I like are circled. I also often provide written information. This obviously isn't a full guide. I haven't had 100% success, but I've done my best to provide what I had in mind. I had one person draw Shinano from Azure Lane instead of me. But that is the risk you take with Skeb/Surprise commissions. I didn't hold it over the artists. My final piece of advice... Only get a Surprise/Skeb commission if you're 100% certain you want it. You may not like the end result, and you won't be able to have it reviewed/changed (generally). Artists of these pieces will be in the comments.
