Fragrances are reformulated frequently as safety regulations are updated and to adapt to raw ingredient shortages, which are worsening due to over-harvesting and climate change. Companies also adapt formulas to include synthetic equivalents, which are more affordable and reliable (and often less irritating). It’s a shame for those who really love a particular fragrance, but it’s a product of international bodies trying to keep us safe, many decades of entirely inadequate sustainability practices, and in some cases, corporate greed.
