@The_Teal_Mask I mean, the Tapus are honest to God worshiped in Alola as local guardian deities. Caldyrex was worshiped in Ancient Galar and the DLC is more or less about him trying to revive said worship. Hell, you could argue that the Loyal 3 were Kitakami's local guardian deities.

"Why aren't the legendaries gods" is the weirdest Horizons criticism imo cause even the games have been moving away from that besides the Sinnoh legends. Rayquaza is just a guy it eats Minior and travels with people sometimes.

the cool thing about VGC is that if you win a tourney with a cool Pokémon plus 5 meta viable Pokémon, people remember you for the one cool Pokémon and not the others
