March 2026 finished with an average temperature of 73.0°F here in Las Vegas.
Not only does this demolish the old March record of 66.7°F (2015), it is also warmer than any April on record here... #nvwx #VegasWeather

The ongoing record-breaking heat wave in the West will continue while expanding across the Central U.S. through the weekend. Based on preliminary data, there have been around 50 March high temperature records broken since March 17 and more than 150 daily high temperature records broken.
Record setting temperatures are expected to continue over the next several days. Most areas will see temperature departures of 25 to 35 degrees higher than normal for this time of year. However, some locations in the central Plains on Saturday could see departures exceed 40 degrees from normal!
Overnight low temperatures will also be well above average, providing little relief from the heat. The early time of year, prolonged nature of this heat wave, and limited seasonal acclimation will increase the risk of heat impacts especially among sensitive populations or those without effective cooling. Adjust plans to limit strenuous outdoor activities to early morning hours, drink plenty of fluids, and seek air conditioned spaces.

The Las Vegas City Council has approved Agenda Item #13, awarding the High Injury Network Streetlight Safety Upgrades Project to MC4 Construction, LLC, in the amount of $2,743,913. This allows us to move forward with important traffic safety improvements across the city. 🚦
Funded through the Traffic Improvements Capital Projects Fund, the project will enhance lighting along several major corridors identified as part of the city’s High Injury Network, including:
• Buffalo Drive
• Charleston Boulevard
• Rainbow Boulevard
• Sahara Avenue
• Rancho Drive
• Decatur Boulevard and more
By improving visibility and upgrading infrastructure, these enhancements are designed to reduce crashes and make our roadways safer for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. 🚗🚴♀️🚶♂️

WE WARNED YOU!
But some people still made the wrong choice. We took 42 impaired drivers off our roads before they could hurt themselves or others.
All 10 of our Area Commands teamed up with Clark County School District Police, UNLV Police, Las Vegas City Marshals, and Nevada State Police Highway Patrol for this Super Bowl DUI Blitz.
