I went into the @Polkadot Solidity Hackathon planning to add one component. Ended up building an entire IDE. Relaycode was made with modularity in mind - every pallet parameter gets its own input. So Revive pallet just needed a Solidity editor component. Simple, right? Except the interface felt way too small for writing actual contracts. Two days before the deadline, I scrapped the plan. And built Relaycode Studio instead. 👇

For a project that has been experimenting since 2023 and has only just launched Mainnet in Jan 2026, this stands out. Already: 🔹 ~242K onboarded phones 🔹 421M+ on-chain transactions It's still early. One to watch.

Transfer reinforces this trend. Transfer activity has grown ~4× in just two months, reaching ~1.9M in February. While transactions show increasing interaction, transfer activity suggests a growing movement of value.

However, under the new economic model, issuance gradually decline. As the network moves toward the 2.1B DOT cap, fewer new tokens will enter circulation over time. This means less inflation available to fund both staking rewards and treasury inflows.

Polkadot is moving from its early expansion phase towards a more structured and predictable economic model. Scarcity gradually increases as supply growth slows. A strong foundation as the ecosystem increasingly focuses on real products and applications.

Polkadot is now moving towards a maximum supply of 2.1B DOT. As annual issuance gradually trends lower over time, supply growth will slow until it becomes barely noticeable. Sample trajectory from a simple model: 🔹 2036 ➡️ ~1.9B 🔹 2046 ➡️ ~2B 🔹 2112 ➡️ ~2.099B

With staking participation stabilising, issuance began evolving. Annual DOT issuance was adjusted to 120M DOT per year in late 2024, introducing more predictability into the system. Shifting from bootstrapping security to manging long term sustainability.
