I’m actually writing this from the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, in sovereign, thriving Vietnam. So yes, John, I am living it. The difference is that the Vietnam Dream was built from the ashes your "liberators" left behind. It’s a dream of self-reliance and dignity that doesn't require a global network of 800 military bases to sustain. The American Dream is a hallucination that only exists because the rest of the world is forced to endure the American Nightmare. Your "prosperity" is a debt-fueled luxury suite built on the backs of countries you’ve spent a century trying to break. You don't have a "dream." You have a global protection racket. We were supposed to be the "example" of failure. Instead, we are the prophecy of your decline. You're still obsessed with being "invincible," but we’re the ones who proved you aren't. While you’re busy drowning in your own "regime changes" and internal rot, we’re just busy being free. The Vietnam Dream is real because it belongs to us. Yours only exists as long as you can keep the rest of us under your boot. And as 1975 proved, your boots aren't as heavy as you think.

@nxt888 Yet, you are not living the Vietnam dream?

Anti-war Israelis? Majority supported war on Iran. If they weren’t under attack, these “anti-war” protests wouldn’t exist. They’re protesting because they’re scared, not because they love peace.

Yemen Ansar Allah Spokesman Al-Bukhaiti on Al Jazeera: "The worst they can do is kill us -- that is martyrdom in the path of God. The worst we can do is submit to the Zionist project and abandon our moral duty." "There is a mad American president who treats war as a game. Mohammed bin Salman treats war as a game. We are victims of those who think war is a game." "We are not only defending our brothers in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran, but also Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar. I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran. This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war. Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons. I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late. Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.

The only time in my life the military was plausibly used to protect Canadians was during the siege of Kanesatake - which any decent person regards as a national shame. Otherwise its most obvious role is to kill people abroad in the service of US-led imperialism.

When Saddam Hussein attacked and captured Kuwait in 1990, his army set 750 Kuwait’s oil wells ablaze. And guess who helped Kuwait to put off those fires? Iranian engineers and workers for 40 days. Kuwaitis paid back that kindness by allowing US to use its soil against #Iran.

Israeli spy and Hollywood movie producer, Arnon Milchan, produced two Robert DeNiro movies in the early 1980s. During this time, Milchan was illegally smuggling nuclear triggers out of the US to Israel, and DeNiro knew about it and kept it a secret. When interviewed about it in 2013, DeNiro said, "he told me that he was an Israeli and he of course would do these things for his country - there was something with the little things that trigger a nuclear thing…I was curious, not in an accusatory way, I just wanted to know, and he said, 'Yes, I’m Israeli, that’s my country.'” When the interviewer asked Milchan about it, he said, "I did it for my country and I’m proud of it." Milchan's behavior shouldn't come as a surprise. As notorious Jewish spy Jonathan Pollard said: "Jews will always have dual loyalty." But when you see DeNiro walking around pretending like he cares about our country, just remember his ridiculous words: "there was something with the little things that trigger a nuclear thing." Traitor.

Arab states that permanently host U.S. military bases have, as a matter of black-letter international law, forsaken their sovereignty and no longer qualify as fully sovereign states. They therefore cannot invoke the rights and protections reserved exclusively to states that actually meet the legal definition of sovereignty, and they have no say about Iran's right to defend itself against US aggression. The Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States (1933), Art. 1, defines statehood by four cumulative requirements, the decisive fourth being “the capacity to enter into relations with other States.” This capacity requires exclusive and independent authority over territory and external affairs, without subordination to any other power (Island of Palmas arbitration, 1928; Lotus case, PCIJ 1927). Numerous Arab states — including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, and others — host permanent U.S. military bases and facilities under Status of Forces Agreements. These agreements grant American forces extraterritorial immunity, exclusive operational command, and control over large areas of sovereign territory. Local courts cannot prosecute U.S. personnel, local legislatures cannot inspect bases, and host governments cannot unilaterally order eviction without risking severe economic or military retaliation. CIA operational centers embedded within or alongside these bases conduct intelligence, surveillance, rendition, and lethal activities beyond effective Arab oversight. A state that cannot control who bears arms on its soil, who conducts intelligence operations, or who decides when foreign forces depart has, by definition, surrendered the exclusivity of authority required by Montevideo. It is no longer exercising the functions of a state “to the exclusion of any other State.” It has become, in legal terms, a semi-sovereign protectorate, leased territory, or a modern vassal in all but name. Arab states hosting permanent U.S. military bases have voluntarily (or under duress) forsaken the fourth Montevideo criterion. They therefore fail the legal definition of fully sovereign states and cannot invoke the full protections of sovereign equality (UN Charter Art. 2(1)) or non-intervention (Art. 2(7)) against the very power whose bases and intelligence apparatus they host. The Arab world must confront this stark legal reality: symbols of statehood such as flags, UN membership, and national anthems confer no genuine sovereignty when the fundamental attributes of independence have been surrendered — least of all the standing to object when Iran exercises its inherent right of self-defense against American aggression emanating from bases on Arab soil.

Today, we visited the Minab school in southern Iran, where US forces massacred 168 students and teachers at the outset of the Trump-Netanyahu war of aggression on Iran. About ten minutes after we left the Minab school today, it was hit with a drone strike. (The aftermath of that strike was captured in this video). Yesterday, we were in the Iranian city of Bushehr, which lies on the Persian Gulf to the north of Minab. Shortly after we left our hotel in Bushehr, there was an airstrike on a target directly across the street from our hotel. While we were in Bushehr, we visited a marine terminal that had sustained damage in airstrikes conducted earlier this month. Shortly after we left the marine terminal, it too was hit with an airstrike. Another site that we visited in Bushehr yesterday was also hit with an airstrike shortly after we left it. Now all of this could be random. On the other hand, it may be that U.S.-Israeli forces are sending us a message. If in fact they are sending us a message, we have a message for them. Our message is that no amount of intimidation will stop us from exposing their monstrous crimes. #Iran #Iranwar
