There's a LOT of misinformation surrounding Veno & Curve -time to dispel some narratives. Saying that they had bad Divisional Cup placements is just blatantly untrue. In the 4 Div Cups before FNCS, they came 2nd, 6th, 7th and 5th. Those are objectively good results - far from mediocre! What's more, they did qualify an EU Div Cup before LAN (only queued for 2) but they were focused on conditioning. They put all their eggs in the LAN basket which wasn't a bad play - just unfortunate that it ended up being redundant once they got contested. Those results can't be used to measure their quality. EWC was poor but they were 17th after Day 1, it was a freak outlier on Day 2 that cost them. The narrative that these guys 'weren't a good fit' seems to have come out of thin air - all the facts and results disprove it.

ngl bro they just didn’t work, uncontested argument doesn’t work at all. What about they’re mediocre performances in the na tournaments leading up to grands? What about them not qualling any eu finals? what about ewc? They had a life tournament on day 2 of grands. They’re individually 2 great players, 1 of them being top 5 all time, but the duo didn’t mesh and that’s fine.

I still think the narrative around Veno & Curve is quite reductive. Yes, they only had one “strong” performance but it was one of the most stylish grands wins in recent memory! Too small a sample size to say that they simply didn’t work - if they played LAN uncontested then they 100% would have placed well. Feels like everyone wants to be critical of them but they’re the FNCS champs for a reason 🤷‍♂️
