๐ด F1 has quietly removed one of the strangest quirks from the 2026 regulations. โข To save battery in certain track sections, drivers had to hold above 98% throttle for a full second to enter "power limited mode." If they lifted off even briefly (e.g. to correct a slide, like Leclerc in China sprint qualifying), the timer reset. This forced them to burn extra energy on corner exit when they reapplied throttle. โข Now, once drivers hit 98% throttle and trigger the pending phase, they automatically enter power limited mode after one second โ even if they back off in between. No more resets. This makes qualifying behaviour more natural, reduces weird energy penalties from small throttle corrections, and should prevent surprise power boosts or shortages.
