Society swears that men move on from breakups faster and easier than women. It’s a massive misconception. When a relationship ends, a woman loses a partner, but she usually falls back into a massive safety net of friends, family, and deep emotional support. When a man loses a long-term relationship, he often loses his only emotional support system. We see him quietly hitting the gym or working eighty-hour weeks and assume he's fine, but the brutal reality is he is grieving in absolute, terrifying isolation because nobody checks on single men.

If his father had not been killed there would have been no "Detroit Red". "Detroit Red" was a fatherless byproduct of the elimination of Earl Little, which led to the derailed path of life that Malcolm was destined for. Malcolm's father was a GREAT man. He would've made the man Malcolm became plus some.

The Nation of Islam is rightfully credited for its role in developing Malcolm into being who he was. That was the organization which turned him from Detroit Red to Malcolm X. Malcolm continued to credit the NOI with reforming him, even after he became critical of the corruption which he saw taking place in the organization. But Malcolm wasn't a product of the NOI alone. He was raised in a Garveyite household and this influence stayed with him throughout his life, which is why he saw the OAAU as a continuation of Marcus Garvey's work. In his autobiography, Malcolm also mentioned reading books by Carter G. Woodson and W.E.B. Du Bois while he was in prison. He developed into the leader that he did because he was able to build on the foundation which he got from Elijah Muhammad by pulling from other influences.

The Nation of Islam didn't make Malcolm X. Malcolm's destiny was always to be a servant of his people. Had his father, Earl Little, a Garveyite, not been killed. We would've had a more dangerous Malcolm than the one presented by the NOI

The most dangerous person is the one who has stopped giving a shit. A person who has realized that nobody cares. People will judge anyway. So they don't perform. They don't lie about who they are. They are unapologetically themselves. No matter what people think. Flawed. Imperfect. Whatever. They cannot be controlled by opinions. They just don't care. Accept them for who they are. Or leave. They're fine with both.
