It's complicated. Some older people argue that young people today "aren't working and hustling" like they themselves (supposedly) did.
Maybe, maybe not. What the oldsters fail to recognize is that kids' morale has been beaten down. They are psychologically crushed by many things, and you see a loss of initiative and energy. Outwardly it looks like laziness. And maybe there is some of that. But a lot of it is due to lack of direction, lack of guidance, lack of role models, and isolation produced by technology and social media.
