@IranDefenceForc This is from the Grindhouse trailer of the Thanksgiving film (or behind the scenes at least). Grandma is cooked and served for the main course.
A photo circulating widely:
An image claimed to be from the Epstein files is going viral, reaching massive views and sparking shock online.
One question keeps coming up: What exactly is in the dish?
@Mishi_2210@sleepyjoe2 500÷2 is another way of saying, how many times does 2 go into 500, or how many 2's make 500? (Answer is 250). 500÷half, means how many time does 0.5 go into 500 or how many 0.5s make 500? So yeah, 1000 x 0.5 = 500, 1000 + 50 = 1050.
THE NHS IS BROKEN
This shocking confession from a senior doctor to a waiting room full of patients at the Princess Royal Hospital in Mid Sussex shows the strain our National Health Service is under.
In 13 years he’s never seen it so bad.
8 hours waiting time.
@EmbarkBulletin Pick up downed players. Sometimes I want to help a downed stranger get to extract. Also, knowing this is an option but leaving people anyway adds to bitterness of being left.
@Nickcaruso91@Inevitablewest@grok I would hardly call approximately 1% of the population "the people". Having approximately 99% of the population not sign the petition is pretty good going for any government.
The new detective show I'm in, #Ludwig, starts today. It's on @BBCOne at 9pm. Below is a trailer made the right shape for you to view on your phone! If this isn't enough to persuade you to watch, tune into @BBCTheOneShow or @BBCFrontRow later and I'll persuade you some more.
Our article evaluating the efficacy of a mobile app for reducing worry and rumination in young adults has now been published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR - mHealth & uHealth). It is open access, check it out on the link below.

My concern is the number of people working in the mental health space with no clinical qualifications or experience in mental health.
The space has been infiltrated by a myriad of snake oil salesmen & chancers from the extremes of Dr Jessica Taylor who is an academic Forensic Psychologist with no clinical expertise, to a daft life coach I saw tweeting “the cure for anxiety is being present”.
@Jaimi_Shrive Where is the source of this information that almost every mental disorder correlates with being female? Google is not showing anything of help when I search.
Weird, women have ‘mental breakdowns’ all the time but I don’t recall any mass stabbings or shootings perpetrated by them.
Yet why does almost every mental disorder in the DSM positively correlate with being female?
I wonder…
Perhaps someone can explain to me why a (rather crappy) personality screening tool is being used to detect personality disorder prior to giving people psychological therapy particularly when the evidence suggests
-people with personality disorder diagnoses benefit from therapy
@Fi_Contextual@drruthannharpur Indeed. It is certainly more nuanced than my crude example. Bottom line, psychometrics should only form part of clinical work and help inform it, not dictate it. Even if it is theoretically possible, we should not be defining people based solely on their response to 8 questions.
@Fi_Contextual@drruthannharpur As a random example, if I had a big screening questionnaire for depression, got it reduced to 8 questions, the item "I love ice-cream" would be more useful than the item "I feel hopeless all the time" if depressed people consistently endorsed it more than the non depressed people
@Fi_Contextual@drruthannharpur Yes and no, with screening assessments it can be useful if things are vague and not specific as it is then harder for the user to adjust their responses to either confirm, or deny, what is being tested.
@Fi_Contextual@drruthannharpur Didn't know they were screening people out of therapy. Where did it say that? I agree, but then that becomes less about whether the measure is crappy and more about whether it is being utilised responsibly. It might be a very valid and reliable measure being used inappropriately.
@Fi_Contextual@drruthannharpur This is why instruments like this need to be well evidenced and thoroughly tested. If it hasn't, then yes it is crappy, if it has and it performed poorly then, most certainly, it is crappy. Again, I don't know. I will see if I can find any literature about it.
