DTCC data: ~2% of US equity trades fail to settle annually. At trillions in daily volume, that's billions in failed delivery and reconciliation overhead. On-chain, a trade either executes atomically or doesn't happen. 0% settlement failure.

Delta hedging requires continuous rebalancing as price moves. Too slow and your hedge drifts. On most chains, the lag is seconds to minutes. Too slow for a tight hedge. At 40ms, real delta-neutral strategies become viable on-chain. No centralized infra required.

AMMs work great for low-frequency, long-tail asset trading. CLOBs work great when you need tight spreads, deep liquidity, and transparent price formation.

AMMs are elegant. You deposit liquidity, set a curve, and trades happen against the pool.

Basis trades look simple. They're actually a function of execution speed, funding rate dynamics, and liquidation risk. On a 40ms chain, all three variables behave differently than on a slow one.

Go long spot, short the perp (or vice versa). Collect the funding rate differential. The trade is market-neutral, your exposure to the asset's direction cancels out. What remains is the yield from the spread itself.

The perp price and the spot price of an asset are usually close but not identical. The difference is the basis. Basis trading captures that spread.

Your token swap has nothing to do with someone else's NFT mint. Different state. On a sequential chain, they still wait in the same queue. SVM processes them simultaneously. Your swap executes at the same time as their mint, not after. That's parallel execution.

No membership fees. No margin segregation disputes. No systemically important institution at the center. Code clears the trade. Oh, and on Fogo it does it in 40ms.
