@ASBaird That's a solid budget meal there then! Hot dogs for the win!
English

@Joshustar We're talking about the cost of the food consumed. So each of the bags of chips cost $1.99 (sale at Smiths) but they'll last us several meals.
English

We’ll hit vegetables hard next week but it’s the last week of school and I wanted to use stuff before it went bad. All-in cost was less than $10 and it took less than 10 minutes.

Austin Baird@ASBaird
I work full-time and have four kids and it’s the last week of school and I made my family dinner in less than fifteen minutes and for less than $20 total (including the steak!).

@Manhattva @KSLcom Stand where you want in the culture war, but when it comes to language, the term "people" in that headline was not just acceptable, it is actually the most correct word since women are not the only ones affected by pregnancy, pregnancy loss, or parenthood issues. Note the commas.
English

@Joshustar @KSLcom We are in the middle of a culture war, and language is very important.
While your point is understandable,
It’s important that we come down hard on pushing back against even the appearance of this anti-woman propensity that is propagated by the media
English

The wording in this post is sickeningly anti woman.
Stop doing this @KSLcom

@ASBaird While I absolutely agree with the first point I'm skeptical of the second. I'd like to know what your top ten actually consists of.
English

@Manhattva I'm honestly curious what your issue with this is? Is it that school aged students were exercising their first amendment rights during school time instead of being in a classroom? Or is it that you disagree with the protests against CBP/ICE because you're conservative?
English

Any teacher or administrator that was supportive of this or endorsed this needs to be terminated immediately.
The conservatives in Utah are so passive, that this communist cancer is only going to metastasize unless the Right grows up here.

School children in Utah were allowed to skip school to participate in violent, disruptive protesting against U.S. borders. Some of them were holding flags from the countries they or their families come from.

@DarthSyphilis08 @Manhattva What do you mean "stand for what's right"?
English

@benscoot @KUTV2News What you're not taking into account here is that a) those three deaths were completely preventable, b) mild infections don't require hospitalizations - and were also preventable, and c) the more people that get infected, the more it spreads, even among those who are vaccinated.
English

@KUTV2News So far in 2025: 1,431 measles cases, 3 deaths, and 12% hospitalized—mostly mild and routine. People need to chill: measles isn’t the crisis some make it out to be, and the numbers just don’t justify panic or mandates. #Measles #MedicalFreedom

@matthewdmarsden Not at all. What I saw was those who supported Trump did so very vocally. But in reality most people did not support him. They didn't love Biden either. But in a two party system, Biden was viewed as the more reasonable option. Those people were not vocal at all, but they voted.
English

I do want people outside the USA to understand something… and I would appreciate it if my fellow Americans chipped in.
Apart from his mean tweets, things were going pretty well under Trump. Economy good. No wars. Gas prices down. I saw more people wearing Trump tshirts in la than i had ever seen for any other Republican candidate since I came to the USA.
When I went across the country all I saw was Trump flags… and a LOT of them. I knew people that hadn’t voted for him first time around that said that they would in 2020 because the country was doing so well. I had friends telling me that they had seen the same. They felt like it was going to be a landslide.
No one I know on the left was excited by Biden. He didn’t campaign, and it looked like he was going to get smashed. He did better than expected in the debates, but for most people not on the far left, it appeared that he was being sacrificed by the Dems and couldn’t win. They would come back next election cycle. The left hated Trump, but most people were happy with where the country was headed, especially economically.
Then Biden won. With more votes than Obama.
For most people, it didn’t make sense.
Was this your experience, too?
English

@SpencerJCox I am generally supportive of you, Governor Cox, but super disappointed by this endorsement. As a more moderate republican yourself, I would hope you saw the value in a more balanced representation. Switching up Romney for this guy does not make our state better in any way.
English

@rhettweller @JoshDance Took me a few episodes to really get into it...but by the second half of the series I couldn't stop. It was fantastic!

@mom1398 @rfitz77 @jtm612402 @TaliskeronSkye @LauraPowellEsq This might be location specific, but the Costco near me instated a mask policy before there was any government mandate. And after the mandate was discontinued, Costco still kept the mask policy for non vaccinated individuals. It seems to follow CDC guidance rather than mandates.
English

@mom1398 @broktokchikhok @jtm612402 @David_Rubio1982 @LauraPowellEsq @TaliskeronSkye Pretty sure I did. And from what I have found so far, none of those claims actually hold up.
You can read the studies for yourself to see, but here's a nice recap.

@mom1398 @TaliskeronSkye @LauraPowellEsq Absolutely. Again, as long as it does not turn into harassment.
English

@richardhartuk @rfitz77 @TaliskeronSkye @mom1398 @LauraPowellEsq The question about whether there are other places to shop I think becomes more a question about monopolies and anti-trust policies than the whether it's unreasonable for a private company to enforce specific dress requirements.
English

@richardhartuk @rfitz77 @TaliskeronSkye @mom1398 @LauraPowellEsq If Costco, as a private company that only sells products to it's members, decides to require those members to wear a niqab in order to shop there, then yes. Within their rights. As long as it's not discriminatory. You don't have to shop there. They don't have to let you in.
