Like it's not even this person's fault, the revolution is taught in a way that sometimes feels like contemporary monarchist propaganda. Who gives a shit about a 10-day week man, way more important things happened.

I am Jewish. I live in the UK If anyone denies the Holocaust, I regard them as unspeakably vile & evil, as do most people Those who now deny the GENOCIDE in Gaza, I equally regard as unspeakably vile & evil PARTICULARLY I condemn any UK politicians and UK media who are GENOCIDE-deniers

No group, including Jewish people, is entitled to an ethnostate. Ethnostates inherently privilege one group over others, requiring the displacement, oppression, and extermination of other peoples to sustain such a structure. Zionism, as an ethnonationalist ideology, underpins the establishment and maintenance of Israel as a Jewish ethnostate, often at the expense of Palestinians- whether they are Christian, Muslim, or Atheist. Critiquing Zionism is not equivalent to critiquing Jewish identity or Judaism; it is an examination of a political ideology that has led to the systemic dispossession, displacement, and ongoing genocide against the Palestinians. The forced removal of Palestinians from their homes and the denial of their rights—both in the past and present—reflect the practical consequences of prioritising one group’s national aspirations over the existence and sovereignty of another. Ethnonationalism, regardless of the group promoting it, deserves scrutiny, as it directly fuels hatred, exclusion, violence, and the erasure of marginalised communities. Zionism is ethnonationalism. Ethnonationalism is inherently violent and hateful.

Criticism of Israel is fine. Anti-Zionism is the negation of the only Jewish state. It says Jews are the only people that do not have a right to nationhood. Also anti-Zionism is often expressed as blood libels against the Jewish state, such as the genocide lie about Gaza.

I'm 63. All my life I could not understand how so many ordinary people participated in or simply "went along" with the Holocaust It made no sense to me Seeing the attitude of so many comfortable people in the West to the GENOCIDE in Gaza, I feel that I now understand

Recently I have been travelling through northern Kurdistan, and have met with Kurdish people from all different kinds of backgrounds. They told countless stories of the current systematic oppression and repression they face – especially from the Turkish state –, as well as a history full of massacres. Destruction and exploitation of the nature – such as unlawful forest cutdowns, sacrificing zones for mining companies and fires – is one of the many tools used as part of the continuous attacks against the Kurds. This often leads to devastation of local communities and biodiversity as well as forced displacement. Erasure of culture and identity, state violence, political prisoners, forced displacement, ecocides and disappearances are just some examples of the discrimination people face on an everyday basis, as well as being denied the right to self determination and freedom. To build genuine bridges of solidarity in Turkey, autonomy and self-governance for Kurdish regions are essential. The Kurdish people deserve the right to shape their own lives, culture, and communities. Turkey must clarify its stance on the Kurds and other minority groups by enshrining their rights in the constitution. The government continues to use “terrorism” as a pretext to silence its political opponents. Tens of thousands of politically active individuals remain imprisoned without fair trials. International organizations such as the ECHR, UN, and Amnesty have condemned this and call for their release. For a sustainable peace and a just future, the Kurds’ right to freedom and autonomy must be respected and the violent attacks against Kurdistan must end. No one is free until everyone is free. These kids are heroes. They just walked into an Israeli army base, where they will declare they refuse to enlist in the destruction of Gaza and the occupation of the Palestinian people. @iddoelam @soul83563989

What the Dems offered America was undemocratic too. It wasn’t anti institutional, like Trumpism. But it was shallow on vision for the country, on communication, on engaging with what voters feel, on competitive candidates. When you serve voters a poor meal, they smash the plate.

He challenged Jim Crow in court and won—only to disappear 3 months later, never to be found. This is the world my parents and grandparents had to survive. It’s heartbreaking that mainstream American Christianity (evangelical & mainline) turned a blind eye/supported Jim Crow.
AFRICAN & BLACK HISTORY@AfricanArchives

In 1938, Lloyd Gaines filed a lawsuit after being denied admission to the University of Missouri Law School in 1935 because he was black. The Court ruled in his favor & required Missouri to admit him or set up a black law school. He disappeared 3 months later never to be found. —Lloyd Lionel Gaines was born to the Gaines family in northern Mississippi in 1911. One of eleven children, seven of whom survived illness and accident, he moved with his widowed mother and siblings to St. Louis after the premature death of their father. They found a better, although not easy, life for themselves in Missouri. Gaines excelled in his studies graduating as valedictorian in 1931 from Vashon High School. At Lincoln University in Jefferson City, he graduated with honors and was President of the senior class, while participating in many extra-curricular activities and working to pay for his schooling. Despite his outstanding scholastic record, the University of Missouri School of Law denied Gaines admittance in 1936 solely on the grounds that Missouri's Constitution called for "separate education of the races." By state law, Missouri would have been required to pay for Gaines to attend the Universities in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska, but Gaines was determined to fight for the right to attend law school in his own state university. He sought legal assistance from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), which had been working systematically to overturn the ignominious precedent of "separate but equal" established in Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896. Together, they challenged the University of Missouri's admissions policies. In 1938, Gaines won his case before the United States Supreme Court in State of Missouri ex rel Gaines v. Canada, paving the way for a series of cases that would lead to Brown v. Board of Education's outlawing segregation in public education. In March 1939, only three months after his Supreme Court victory, Lloyd Gaines was last seen in Chicago. He disappeared at age 28 with his promise of attending law school in Missouri unfilfilled. Lloyd Gaines was never to be seen or heard from again. 🖊️As the only admin behind this page, I try to research to educate.
