@NerdCraveYT Ehhhhhh no I think it's good to have more jobs for an ever growing industry. Also usage of AI is cutting a lot of corners, resulting in lesser products so I don't think if good at all, actually.

I am OK with AI in the final product as well as long as there is a human creating the vision. Video game budgets are huge and so are development cycles. Any tools they can use to reduce those things is a positive. There are too many people working in the industry anyway it’s ridiculous to have 2000 people working on a fucking video game that you beat in 30 hours.

I find it interesting that many people see AI in games as okay as long as its used for concept work and doesn't make it into the final game. I just want to remind these people that in game development, there are people who's entire role is to develop concept art/assets.

@StillBRS I see many people ignore important roles or aspects of many creative industries, and being apart of the gaming one myself I hope to inform wherever I can such as here. I just wish concept work was more recognised.

@SEGAForgotess The modern writer is generally garbage, even myself. The only writers I care about have been dead for the better part of a century. Those are the only collaborators I seek, and I do that through study. Everyone else can go fuck themselves.

@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ No but I believe in giving people constructive feedback to help other creatives improve and collaborate with them better. Its also a chance for yourself to grow. It's nice to see others improve and grow alongside them

@SEGAForgotess Not because their writing is that bad, but because you have to pretend it's better than it is, elsewise you're going to be seen as an elitist prick. You won't have a co-writer. I don't have to be nice to the AI. The AI is there to work with me even at 1AM.

@Meowdyjac It really is fantastic! I really love creator interviews and seeing footage of early conceptualisation stages where you can see a bunch of sticky notes with scrappy little scribbles on them when they were working stuff out. You can tell creators have a bunch of fun when allowed

My favorite part of looking at art books of my favorite media IS ALL THE HAND MADE IDEAS. THE NAPKINS, THE STICKY NOTES, THE NOTE PAPERS EVERYTHING!!!! It's amazing to see how everything came together and Generative AI is ruining this joy.

@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ No, but I do enjoy reading many of Tolkein's stories, as many do. He's renound for taking great care in even the smallest aspects of the world and stories he built, and look at how successful, memorable and loved the world of Middle earth is. I think I've made my point.

@SEGAForgotess Have you ever read the $5 'wine mom romance novel' shit in a dollar store? lol You'd change your mind pretty quickly. I also worked as an editor for prisoners. Those also were fucking ghastly, and pretty formulaic. Who would have thought gangbangers enjoy writing?

@SEGAForgotess Alternatively, AI is great as a bouncing board for exploring ideas quickly, or pushing yourself out of writer's block if you get stuck on a scene, an interaction, some descriptor you've spent way too much time on. I genuinely like writing with AI more than with other humans.

@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ I'd bet your work is lesser than many current novelists not using AI, and afar beneath one's who have come before, writing before this technology was available to be quite blunt.

@SEGAForgotess Because it's not personal, and I'm not some loser that's so tore up over my dream jobs now all being gone, that I'll turn into some luddite and scream at the clouds forever. Adapt or die. I choose to adapt, and it's actually pretty fun. Better than most dollar store novelists.

@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ Many writers enjoy fleshing out their work and it's the many small things that build up and make the work far more interesting. Really enjoying the creation of a work, you would want to take care of a project, rather than letting AI change and alter things to lesser quality

@SEGAForgotess I am a creative writer, I've been paid professionally for the work, and I'm still using AI writing regardless. I enjoy writing deeply, but I don't care about writing everything. There are thousands of circumstances where 'filler' is fine, even sometimes when talking to people.

@SEGAForgotess I went through eight years of university for creative writing, English degree, alongside History. I've had plenty of creative projects, I also know that AI has taken my job countless times. I've legitimately lost tens of thousands. Does that mean I stop enjoying it? Hardly. lol

@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ I really pity you. It's sad you settle for less. It's also sad you can't see any of the joy involved in creative project because you get a machine to do it for you. This is a multi billion dollar company also. They can afford to pay artists.

@SEGAForgotess I use AI in things I love all the time. I don't mind the quality loss if I can generate 'alright' art in seconds, whereas an artist will take hours. It's also cheaper, which is the other benefit.

@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ Prioritising speed over quality leads to lower quality products which is what should actually matter. Anything you love and hold to a high standard would not be at such a standard if not for the people who conceptualised said thing. They deserve credit.

@SEGAForgotess Speed > Quality That's all that really matters. If I wanted a masterpiece I would dig Da Vinci or Michelangelo out of their grave.

@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ Well the issue is, they are using AI for a lesser result. AI can't compare the the conceptualisation and realisation of a human artist

@sir_prise_party Yes! It's a bit sad to see people ignoring these people in industry, especially when I'm friends with a few. These people do a lot of hard work and it's a shame to see their work undermined
