Elizabeth Banks explains why the SAVE Act is all about voter suppression: “The SAVE Act? You gotta stop it. It’s unconstitutional. We are not gonna require people to go get a passport to vote. This is a right enshrined in the Constitution. Stop making it harder for people to vote. Start making it easier. We know who benefits and who doesn’t”

BREAKING: Trump is left reeling after the New York Times reveals that Iran’s attacks have bombed EVERY American military base in the Middle East so badly they are “virtually uninhabitable!”
Thanks to the Trump administration’s criminal lack of preparation and shocking understimation of Iran’s military capabilities, the US military is now working remotely in the Middle East, putting civilians in danger as they work out of hotels and makeshift operations centers in civilian areas.
“The result, according to current and former military officials, is a war that is much harder to prosecute.”
The Times reports that “many of the 13 military bases in the region used by American troops are all but uninhabitable, with the ones in Kuwait, which is next door to Iran, suffering perhaps the most damage.”
Iranian officials have even accused the U.S. military of using civilians as human shields by putting American troops in hotels.
This is sure to prompt another furious tirade from Donald Trump who we now know is not getting the full picture of just how badly this war is going for him and is instead just getting a highlight reel of war porn, watching our tax dollars blow things up for two minutes every day.
This is a perfect demonstration of the blind hubris of the Trump administration. After two decades of watching America uncontestedly bomb the poorest people in the world, Trump and Hegseth couldn’t even conceive of an enemy with a sophisticated military and able to fight back, despite all the evidence to the contrary.
They took no preparations, expected no reprisals. They didn't evacuate anyone from the Middle East until AFTER the war had started. They didn't bother to prepare for drones.
They attacked Iran because they are cowards and bullies, thinking that they could impose their will on Iran by simply killing one old man.
They were very, very, wrong, and now they’ve started a fire they cannot put out with lies and bombs.

Y'all, Dash Crofts has died at the age of 87. Dash, shown here on the right with musical partner Jim Seals, was half of the iconic 1970s soft rockers Seals and Crofts. Both Dash and Jim were Texans. “Dash” Crofts, whose real name was Darrell, was born in Cisco, Texas on August 14, 1940, alongside his twin sister, Dorothy. The nickname “Dash” stems from his mother, who entered the twins in a beauty contest when they were babies, under the names Dot and Dash. Crofts played baseball and took piano lessons at five years old before pivoting to drums. He was two years older than Jim Seals, who grew up an hour south in Sidney, Texas. They met while they were both in the local band the Crew Cats, and later joined the Champs, moving to California. They had a monster hit song, "Tequila," as part of the Champs.
“The song took off and scared the s**t out of all of us,” Crofts told Rolling Stone in 1971. “We were literally stars overnight. In one sense, I guess it was a fantastic experience. We were awfully young, the whole rock scene was really innocent, we met a lot of different people and went to a lot of places. But God, it was a hard life. Hard in every way. We were constantly on the road in a bus.”
In 1969, the two formed Seals and Crofts and hit the big time with "Summer Breeze (makes me feel fine)," "Diamond Girl," "We Will Never Pass This Way Again," and "Get Closer," earning four gold albums, two platinum albums, and two Grammy nominations. In 1983, the pair went their separate ways before reuniting in the 1990s and, in 2004, they teamed up for their first album since 1980 with "Traces."
Jim Seals died in 2022.
RIP Dash Crofts!

Hoje, meu nome é Taraji P. Henson.
Ninguém me deu nada.
- Taraji P. Henson.

The head of Europe’s central bank just said financial markets don’t understand what they’re in for.
This is Christine Lagarde saying the damage is already done. Most people have absolutely no idea. Here is what she actually said.
Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. That chokepoint carries 20% of the world’s oil and gas. Markets shrugged. Investors assumed it would blow over. Lagarde told The Economist that technical experts are not talking about months for recovery. They are talking about years.
Helium travels through the Strait of Hormuz. Helium is not a balloon gas. It is the invisible ingredient inside every advanced microchip on earth. Qatar supplies 35% of the world’s commercial helium. Qatar’s facilities have gone dark. Spot prices have surged past $450 per thousand cubic feet. Most chip fabricators carry less than three months of inventory. The world is building AI data centers at record speed. The raw material that makes the chips possible is now scarce.
Meanwhile Brent crude has hit $99. Earlier spikes passed $120. US gasoline is up 30%. Iraq cut 1.5 million barrels a day. Saudi Arabia paused its largest refinery. Europe is heading into this with gas storage at 30% capacity.
And the ECB is not cutting rates to soften the blow. It is considering hiking them to fight inflation.
Slow economy. Rising prices. Tighter money. All at once.
